Seasons of New

Seasons of New
By: Rick L. King
June 9, 2012

I just wrote an article called "All Things New". This is taking it somewhat further.

In life we go through many seasons of change. When God does a new thing in our life we find ourselves very happy and thrilled. The problem is that we will always go through new seasons of change. This is really just our nature. I think God just made us that way so we would never be completely satisfied as to where we are in Him. Anyone who really knows the Lord and has tasted of Him, knows that we are always wanting to go deeper. Somehow we seem to always know that there is more of Him to find. There is always a hunger in our heart that only He can feed.

When God does some of things in us that He does we are so overjoyed. This works for awhile. Yet down the road we find our self wanting more again. I guess we are just really never satisfied. This is really a good thing. Otherwise we become complacent and passive. We get into a rut and live in what He has done in the past. We always need seasons of the new. God does not stay or just do things one way. He is always moving and changing His ways of doing things. We must stay free to follow the cloud. The Holy Spirit wind blows and the cloud moves. Clouds never stay in one place. They are always moving. For us then if we desire to be close to Him and really follow Him we must always stay open to change. We must stay under His cloud no matter where it goes. So many have experienced things the Lord has done and built an alter so to speak. It was glorious when He did it, but the problem is that God moved on. The cloud moved but many people stayed and didn't go with the cloud to the next new thing that God was doing.

In our lives and walk with the Lord there will come many seasons of the new. The only way that we will experience them is to stay open and free and sensitive to the Holy Spirit. We are to be led by the spirit. If He moves then so do we. If he stops then we stop. We just flow under the cloud as it moves, but we must stay under His cloud. God will take us through many new seasons but can only do so if we loosen our hold on past things and just stay willing at all times to allow change. His way is always best!

I am a 63 year old Born-Again spirit filled Christian, that has been saved for 30 years. Jesus found me when I was suicidal. I learned real quickly that I was powerless to be in control of my life, so I let Jesus take over. He has chosen me to be a warrior for Him. WE win, if we fight His way.
