There Is No Such Thing As A Moral Hacker

by Dr. Henderson Ward
6/16/2012 / Christian Living

A friend of mine who was a victim of e-mail hacking once said that hacking left her feeling like she had been raped. A man who was hacked felt so disgusted that he promptly stopped using all electronic communications and resorted to telephoning and writing letters. Another victim of hacking was so distraught that she became scared that all her stuff was being examined, even long after her problem was resolved. In London, U.K at this moment a judicial inquiry into phone hacking is in session and one man has already been jailed who worked for the now defunct News of the World newspaper.

All this came to mind with the force of an exploding missile because over the past few days I have been hacked and the hacker, purporting to be me, contacted many people asking for money for a sick relative. People of normal intelligence should know better than fall for such a ridiculous scam, but people sometimes react with their hearts rather than their heads and the hacker sometimes are able to fool some people and get away with such a heinous crime.

In my case it began with someone from an African country wanting me to send him detailed information about me personally and include my bank details so that he can send two million dollars to my account because I have been chosen to get this money from a rich person who is dying, etc. This was such an obvious scam that I deleted it from my junk mail forthwith. I received several of these scam e-mails over the last few months with the prose and subject matter reworked and I gave them all the same treatment; immediate deletion.

Recently and to my eternal regret I made a fundamental childish error and was caught in an avoidable trap. A reader from the USA read several of my articles and contacted me directly rather than through Faithwriters.com and as a consequence we corresponded a few times. This lady from the USA and I were dealing with a certain topic and the hacker sent me an e-mail in the middle of this exchange and foolish me, I transferred the hackers e-mail from junk to my inbox and opened it as normal. This is the way I think the hacker got past my security systems. It could be that he got in by other means.

I did not know that I was hacked until someone telephoned me and reported that he received a request from me for money and he promptly e-mailed me to make an enquiry and because I did not receive his e-mail I knew I was hacked because he got a reply to his enquiry. I took measures to rectify the situation and some of my contacts re-sent me e-mails that I should have received and had not.

Let us not mince words about these hackers because the morality of the world is so distorted and toxic that we condone hacking when it is done for us or for our side whatever that means and deplore it when its done against us. Hackers are criminals, pure and simple and although they may have acquired some technical skill to interfere with electronic communications they are morally and spiritually bankrupt, live lives of contempt as befitting their sewer status and resort to heaping misery and mayhem on others in the mistaken belief that it compensates for their lack of manly stature.

You are not strong because you can kick a feeble old lady to death; you are not macho because you can spit in the face of an infant; you are not someone of worth because you can make nasty phone calls and you are nothing but a menace, a wretched failure and an insipid, gutless buffoon when you hide behind electronic gizmo and resort to hacking.

What goes around comes around and the Bible tells us that Evil shall slay the wicked. It is a certainty that hackers will get their come-uppance sooner or later. Hackers have been known to be pursued by avengers and found brutally murdered because they mess with the wrong guy or the wrong organization, some have been blown to bit and others have just disappeared forever.

To those hackers out there I say grow up and get a life; real life. Thats right Jesus says this, I am come that you might have life, and that you may have it more abundantly and anyone can have this life just for the asking. Even hackers.

Hacking is criminal, mean and dirty and only those of the devils spawn stoop to such activity. If you are a hacker I can scarcely appeal to your conscience because if you were conscionable you would not be a hacker. Nevertheless I imagine you do not sleep too well at night for fear that creaking you hear is someone coming to blow your brains out and everywhere you go you fear retribution and the stress is beginning to tell. Migraines, indigestion, insomnia and heart palpitations are ever present. It will all get worse until you are a total wreck. My dearest wish is that you will find peace in the Lord Jesus Christ through confession, genuine repentance and a completely changed life.

People must forget the sentimental hogwash and understand that there are no moral hackers. You do not uphold the law by breaking it and the criminals who hack are generally petty thieves who are out to fleece the unwary and careless or to create needless confusion and misery.

To all those involved in Christian service, and especially those who devote themselves to spreading the Gospel electronically, I advise you and encourage you to continue doing the work of the Master even if hackers cause you great inconvenience. Nehemiah did not give up because he had a few set backs, neither did Paul nor any of the apostles. And neither should we for the moment we throw in the towel the hacker wins and that must never happen.

At least one positive came from all this. As I spent precious time to sort this all out I had to redouble my efforts to catch up to my schedule and now I find that, with this hacking sorted out, my level of productivity is higher than before all this started. It warms the heart to see that God still takes the enemy's obstacles and uses them to accomplish noble things for a higher purpose as per Joseph sojourn in Egypt. May we always be glad that God's will be done in heaven and on earth.

Enough said.
