Within the Veil

Tho' storms may rage about you,
Tho' the sky be black,
And all appear gray and unlit,
Yet behind those clouds blazes the brilliant
And precious presence of God.

For many waters cannot quench God's love1,
And tho' the floods rise,
Yet His love will sustain you.
Beyond the blackest night is the brightest day,
Beyond weeping is yet the shrill delight of birdsong,
The call of the Savior to go on in,
Beyond the veil - into His very presence,
For they who sow in tears will reap with joy,
Will go forth rejoicing, carrying their sheaves2

The day draws nigh,
It grows brighter and brighter,
And the shadows flee,
Yet unto the perfect day3,
When weeping shall be no more!4
