Have you ever asked or believed the Lord for something and find yourself in a waiting mode? Have you ever considered that just maybe what you are asking for or wanting may not be the will of God as it is only going to feed your flesh? As a parent, you would most likely be aware that kids ask for things that are not good for them. You in your wisdom and understanding must determine if what they want is a good or bad thing for them.

The Word tells us that they which are in the flesh cannot please God. God desires us to sow to our spirit as this is where our real true life comes from. He desires to have an intimate relationship with us and often what we want is in opposition to that. We so often want or do many things that are really not of the Lord, but are actually of our flesh. The only way that we learn what is His will is that we must spend time with Him and get to know Him and His heart. The disciples waited in the upper room till they were endued with power. They waited for His direction and timing and as a result were filled with His power to do what He asked them to do. How often do we do things in our own power?

In the book of Isaiah chapters 30 and 31 we find the way that God looks at our actions in the flesh and how that He will act or react to them. The chapters start out telling us that anything that we do outside of His Spirit is rebellion on our part. If we act by the words of man or by our flesh then God says that we are in rebellion. In chapter 30 verse 18 we find the Lord telling us:

And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.

God says that when we trust in horses (flesh) or the Egyptians (man) and do our own thing that He will wait. He will wait until we return to Him verse 19 at the voice of our cry. As long as we hold on to what we want and keep doing things of our flesh, then God will just wait. He will wait until we cry out to Him and desire Him and His will more than our own. Jesus came to do the Father's will not His own. He was our example and if we are truly crucified with Jesus then this will also be our only focus and concern. We will be saying Father, what is your will? My will and desires do not matter. It is only about you and not about me. If He is truly Lord of our lives then this will be our one desire.

We can be persistent and get what we want at times but with a great cost.

Ps 106:15 And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.

How bad do you want what you want? Do you want it bad enough to have a lean soul? Is your flesh that important to you? Do you really want the Lord to be in charge of your life or do you still want to side up with the enemy and run things your way? God is waiting on you. You often think that you are waiting on Him but in fact He is waiting on you to cry out to Him and allow Him to make the decisions and choices for your life so that you can actually find the life He has for you. You did not get saved to just go back and do your own thing. Who is going to be Lord of your life? Will it be God or you? God is waiting on you!

I am a 63 year old Born-Again spirit filled Christian, that has been saved for 30 years. Jesus found me when I was suicidal. I learned real quickly that I was powerless to be in control of my life, so I let Jesus take over. He has chosen me to be a warrior for Him. WE win, if we fight His way.
