So much to do and so much to remember. It is easy to get lost in the day to day. Then you hear one preacher say that we all must spend 2 hours everyday reading the Bible and 1 hour praying. Then another preacher tells you that 4 hours each day is what every Christian should be doing in prayer and in the Word. If you watch any Christian TV you will hear much of the same in varying amounts and where you should do it. I'm not here to tell you how much time you should spend with God or what you should say. I think that it is between you and God.
What I do believe is that there are 3 things that all Christians should do daily when seeking God's face and His kingdom. One is that it should be done in the morning time as part of your daily preparation. Just as you won't go out undressed, your private time with God is critical to your daily well being. It is how you start off your day right. How much time you spend is up to you and God. Fit in what you can.
The next thing is spending some of that time in private prayer away from ALL interruptions. It is hard to have clear thoughts when praying and even harder to hear from God when you are constantly interrupted and distracted. Find a spot in your home that you make into a prayer closet. It doesn't have to be a closet, just some quiet place for you and God to meet. My prayer closet is my bathroom sitting on my "throne". I read and study the Bible at the dining table then right before I get ready for work it is into my prayer closet I go. This time is too important for you to treat it lightly or to allow others to distract you. If you find it hard to accomplish this on a regular basis then try getting up a little earlier before the rest of your house does. One thing is for sure, if you will set aside time every day for God, God will set aside time for you! Watch and see if God won't show up EVERYTIME you earnestly do this.
Lastly, be consistent! Make a point of meeting with your creator everyday, ALWAYS. That is what God cares about is you meeting with Him ALWAYS everyday. "Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God" and that happens every time you read His Word. It isn't just time spent reading the Bible like some chore. It is reading His message to you found in His Word. I have read the Bible and I am still amazed at the insight and revelation that the Holy Spirit reveals to me every time I read it.
God delights in His children when they are always following His Word and not just on Sundays. Acknowledging that you need God, acknowledging God's blessings in your life, acknowledging God's greatness, acknowledging your needs to God, acknowledging who you are in Christ and acknowledging who Christ is in you.
This is what the Bible says about ALWAYS. 1 Corinthians 13:6-7 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 1 Peter 3:15 Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 16 Rejoice always, 17pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
God will honor you for honoring Him with your time. Time is the one thing that people are the most stingy and wasteful with. They would rather give money than give their time. I have found that the more time I spend with God more I need to spend time with God. I have sooooo much to learn. ALWAYS seek God daily and God will ALWAYS seek you. Math. 28:20 ... And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
My name is Steve and I was born and raised in a good Christian home in Phoenix Arizona. In 2004 God spoke to me to let me know that He would start sharing things with me that I would share with others. Little did I know how powerful and meaningful those things would be! Thank you Lord!!
