Do You Remember?
by Olawale Ogunsola
7/20/2012 / Salvation
Do you at all remember always the goodness and love of your Creator to and for you?
Take time to consider these: Once upon a time, you were a little "object" in the womb of your mother. Neither your father nor your mother can clearly say whether you are a "boy" or a "girl" but God, your Creator, was sure of what and who you were.
On the day you were born, God saw you through. He cared for you when you were in "you own blood". At this point in time,no man could guarantee your survival but God.
He saw you throgh babyhood until now.
Do you remember that you had no say as to your date of birth, sex, place of birth, nativity and stature. Your Porter fashioned you to meet His purpose. Hear Him in Ezekiel 16:6-7.
"And when I passed by you and saw you
struggling in your own blood, I said to you in your blood, 'Live!' Yes, I said to you in your blood, 'Live!'
I made you strive like a plant in the field; and you grew, matured,
and became very beautiful."
With all His goodness, mercy and love for you, what have you done for God? Rebellion? You grew up to find out that you have a brain-given you by God- and that you can use it 'the way you feel' right. Have you turn it against God? What a pity!
Do you want to deny that you are a rebel? Romans 3:23 says
"For ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
You may ask 'Am I part of the ALL?' Psalm 51:5 reads,
"Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity,
And in sin my mother conceived me."
With those words of the Psalmist, can you agree that you are part of the ALL and that you are born a Rebel by nature?
Many realised this and want to do something about it. This leads them to become Religionists. Others fail to appreciate this and they say 'there's no God!'
To the latter group, the Psalmist says in Psalm 14:1
"The fool has said in his heart,'There is no God!' "
To the former, Religionists, they attempt to seek and please God. However, what does God want? Proverbs 23:26 states,
"My son, give me your heart,
And let your eyes observe my ways."
God needs your heart and not your religion, no matter how 'beautiful' it may seem to you.
What is the danger in a Religion? It makes one an hypocrite. The Lord's complaint against Religionists of old is contained in Matthew 15:8-9 that read,
"These people draw near to Me with their mouth,
And honor Me with their lips,
And IN VAIN THEY WORSHIP ME
Teaching as doctrines
the commandments of men."
Simply put,you can be religious in VAIN.
What must you do now? God, the father, says of Jesus Christ:
"This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased, Hear Him!" Matthew 17:5.
John 3:18 assures
"He who believes in Him is not condemned
;but he who does not
believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in
the name of the only
begotten Son of God.
If you remember your Creator's goodness and mercy to you and do not want to be a Rebel, believe in the only begotten Son of God, name all your evil ways to Him and forsake them.
After this, obtain a copy of the Bible for meditation and move with other believers.
