Oh Lord, thou are my shield!
In you I place a thousands trusts.
Truths of the very sword you wield,
Point out the evil and corrupt.

Oh Lord, thou are my rock!
On which I stand unafraid.
Your very word keeps me steady,
On grounded foot I am stayed.

Oh Lord, thou are my counsel!
When enemies prepare to strike,
You guide me in the way to go,
On dark roads of winding life.

Oh Lord, thou are my mercy!
I err in the sight of you,
Gentle scolding's temper me,
Yet forgiveness is born anew.

Oh Lord, thou are my salvation!
I cry out for your saving grace,
From the heavens of your home,
Comes the beauty of your face!

Oh Lord, thou are most precious!
A miracle none other than you,
Sat beside when I was dying,
Amazing grace pulled me through.

Oh Lord, thou are my goodness!
My every kindness is but you,
My compassion for all others,
Stems from your vine of truth.

Oh Lord, thou are my life!
Filling up my every need,
Existing for the voice of you,
Thou are the very air I breathe!
