If the Lord should tarry,
and I have to wait another day
I will endure what life brings me
as I continue to believe and pray.

If I have to remain,
in this earthly body still longer
I will keep my hopes in the Lord
and my faith will become stronger.

If I have to linger,
and my departure takes more time
I will ask the Lord for patience
and over every obstacle I will climb.

If I have to wait,
until the Lord finally comes for me
I will have the perseverance
to ride out every rough, stormy sea.

If the Lord should tarry,
and I have to wait another day
I will endure what life brings me
but my sights are set on that day!
