Taste of the Lord

Have you ever seen something that looks so good and never tasted it? Has a person told you about something that really was good for them but since you had not had the same experience you would dismiss what was said. We seem to usually believe what we have experienced for our self. We can only know something if we have experienced it.
If you saw a steak (can use any food or drink) and it looked so good but until you actually tasted it for yourself you would never really know what it truly tasted like would you? You could take another's word for it but it is just not the same as when your taste buds get to experience the taste.
Our spiritual taste buds are no different. We often base our relationship with the Lord by what we have experienced for our self. If we have always been religious and have gone to a church where there was really no presence of God or His power, it is hard to understand that there may be something different. To me once I had experienced His presence and power, religion no longer had any taste at all. It is like eating a food that needs spices but is so bland that there is no satisfaction in it. Many people have experienced salvation but nothing more. They have gotten involved maybe with a church that is legalistic or religious but yet they have never tasted intimacy with the Holy Spirit. Unless we taste of something then how can we truly know that it is really good?
Psalms 34:8 O (1)taste and (2) see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
Hebrew translations:
Taste-02938. םעט ta'am taw-am'; a primitive root; to taste; figuratively, to perceive: X but, perceive, taste.
See-07200. האר ra'ah raw-aw'; a primitive root; to see, literally or figuratively (in numerous applications, direct and implied, transitive, intransitive and causative): advise self, appear, approve, behold, X certainly, consider, discern, (make to) enjoy, have experience, gaze, take heed, X indeed, X joyfully, lo, look (on, one another, one on another, one upon another, out, up, upon), mark, meet, X be near, perceive, present, provide, regard, (have) respect, (fore-, cause to, let) see(-r, m, one another), shew (self), X sight of others, (e-)spy, stare, X surely, X think, view, visions.
I want to invite those of you that have never really tasted of the Lord, to step out by faith and go get a real taste of Him. Don't let another person make this decision for you. Taste of the Lord, and see (experience for yourself) how good that He really is.
I am a 63 year old Born-Again spirit filled Christian, that has been saved for 30 years. Jesus found me when I was suicidal. I learned real quickly that I was powerless to be in control of my life, so I let Jesus take over. He has chosen me to be a warrior for Him. WE win, if we fight His way.
