IS THE ISRAELI TAIL STILL WAGGING THE AMERICAN DOG

Sometimes you say something not because you particularly want to but because as the watchman on the wall your duty is to say it as you see it. This came to mind because currently there is a close, hard-fought election for President going on in the USA and the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin "Bibi" Netanyahu is throwing his weight in the campaign as if he is a contender.
No leader in his right mind is going to go out of his way to deliberately provoke the sitting president of the USA knowing full well that he may have to deal with him for the next four years. So why is Netanyahu so patently reckless and confrontational with the sitting USA President?
The USA supports Israel financially to the tune of five billion dollars yearly.
The USA supports Israel militarily with logistics, hardware and intelligence.
The USA supports Israel ideologically, politically, spiritually and emotionally
This sitting USA President does all the above and yet Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is rewarding him by heaping tons of opprobrium on his head like there are no tomorrows.
