God Has Been Good To Me

Looking into my past I can't remember just when
The Lord Jesus Christ saved my soul from sin.
The change in my heart was so gradual you see
But one thing I know, God has been good to me!
He was with me when the storms of divorce raged by
Those were the times when I wanted to die!
My world, it caved in and life lost its glee
But through it all God has been good to me.
I would have ended my life and committed suicide
If He hadn't stood with me thru the raging tide!
Satan would have rejoiced and shouted with glee
But God stopped Satan; God has been good to me.
Many times at night on my bed I did cry
I cried, "Lord it hurts! Please let me die!"
God said, "I still love you!" He has been good to me!
God said, "Though all forsake thee I'll stand by thy side!"
"I'll heal the hurt and I'll roll back the tide!"
This He did, God has been good to me.
When I think that my life has been in vain
God always sends down that later rain.
It refreshes me; God has been good to me!
The hurt seems to linger, "Oh Lord tell me why?"
God said, "Go buy some film at T, G &Y!
When I bought the film I guess I did flirt
That's how I met Penny who helped heal the hurt!
Yes God has been good to me!
We were married; yes I made Penny my wife
I know God gave her to brighten my life!
She does and God has been good to me!
She was told by a prophet, "You will conceive!"
Little Joshua was born, twas hard to believe!
God has been good to me.
With Joshua our children now number three
There's Jason, Erica and little Peewee.
Yes God has been good to me.
One night with fire Satan tried our lives to take
His plans failed when God caused Penny to awake.
She ran thru the house and sounded the alarm
We all escaped to our lives was no harm!
God has been good to us!
Our home and all we owned Satan destroyed that day
God's still small voice said, "I'll make a way!"
In our home Jesus must be number one
We love Him for all the good He has done!
Thank You Lord!
