The Wise And The Foolish

by Olawale Ogunsola

THE WISE AND THE FOOLISH.
In a gathering of people, it is a hard task to identify who is a wise or foolish person when everybody keeps quiet and does nothing.
As soon as the opportunity comes for individuals to speak, then it is easy to know the Wise, the Foolish, the educated, the illiterate, and so on.
What a person says or does is a product of his/her thoughts because, "out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks." Matthew 12:34.
Then, we can now go further to consider some of the things a wise and a foolish person will do.
A. The Wise loves instruction and correction. Proverbs 12:1.
But the Foolish is wise in his own eyes because he thinks his way is right. Proverbs 12:15.
Whereas, Proverbs 3:7 says,
"Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the Lord and depart from evil."
Generally speaking, since the day of Noah,
"...the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually." Genesis 6:5.
By nature, the heart of man is wicked because "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23.
That is why if you want to be the Wise, you are hereby instructed and corrected to follow the Way henceforth. The Way is Jesus Christ.
Proverbs 14:12 makes it clear that "There is a way that seems right to a man,
But its end is the way of death."
Turn to the right Way today.
B.The Wise sees a place for safety before the time of danger and runs into it but the Foolish experiences the danger. He sees no reason to run from it.
Proverbs 18:10 states that "The name of the Lord is a strong tower;
The righteous run to it and are safe".
A time of the wrath of God is coming, what are you doing to avoid it?
The name of Jesus Christ is a strong tower, only the Wise runs into it for safety here in this earth and there before the throne of judgment. Why? Because
"Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father", Philippians 2:9-11.
The Foolish will not confess with his/her tongue that Jesus is Lord to experience the forth-coming wrath of God. Please, be wise.
C. The Wise sees evil/sin and runs away, but "the fools mock at sin", Proverbs 14:9a.
The Wise knows when instructed that "the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord", Romans 6:23.
The Foolish prefer the wages of sin, which is death. Destruction awaits the Foolish in hell.
The Wise will inherit eternal life. Be wise, accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Confess and forsake all your sins. Get a copy of the Scriptures for your daily meditation. Join an assembly of Believers for your Christlike growth.
