My Poems?

Some say of my poems, "You write them so well!"
But, let us take time to talk for a spell.

I don't write them, God takes hold of my pen
He writes the words because He is my friend.

Though my poems lead a sinner to bow at the cross
And one repents of sin that their soul not be lost.

Though one reads the lines given to me by God
And steps in the path with Jesus to trod.

Though soul after soul through my poems be saved
And one at death's door is delivered from the grave.

Though thru my poems millions escape Hell's awful place
What will it profit me if I fall from grace?

What will it profit if my poems should become great!
If God sees in my heart a small trace of hate?

The lines I write you say, "They rhyme so well!"
What will it profit if I recite them in Hell?

What will it profit me, this pen in my hand?
If I turn away from my Lord so Grand?

What would it profit if my heart filled with pride?
Over words I wrote down as my hand He did guide?

With a last sheet of paper and office in the abyss
As I wrote in Hell it might read like this:

"His Glory I took, His warning I did spurn!"
"To pay for that I stole I will eternally burn!"
