Playing The Game
by Lewis E. Thomas
10/12/2012 / Poetry
Everyone enjoys a sport and the excitement of the game
When our team wins we are always glad we came.
Every sport has rules by which every player must abide
Those who obey the rules play the game with pride!
Many disobey the rules as they play the game
They suffer penalties that often bring them pain.
The Game of Life we play is being observed by Heaven above
God is watching to see if we play by the rules of love.
The Bible is the Rule Book of Life on how to play the game
Are you playing in a manner that will bring you shame?
Is Jesus calling the shots in your offense against sin?
Without Jesus there is just no way that we can win!
Light versus Darkness is the game played by every soul
Will your team win the Trophy and The Gold?
Jesus caused Satan's Team to suffer a terrible loss!
He made The Winning Touchdown when He died on The Cross!
God is The Greatest Umpire of them all!
Will you be "Safe or Out" when He makes that final call?
