He saw a hopeless child as He passed by one day
The condition of this child was beyond what words can say.

Wounded and battered by sin near the point of death
The sight of it caused Jesus to quickly hold His breath.

It had scars and sores and bruises and a battered face
He gently picked it up and wrapped it in His grace.

He gave it enough love to fill the ocean and every sea
You see I ought to know because that child is me!
