Thank You Mother

Mother I want to thank you for giving birth to me your son
I want to take a moment to thank you for all that you have done.
Thank you for the nine months that you carried me within your womb
Thank you for preparing for me in your heart a Special room!
Thank you for the sleepless nights you stayed up when I was ill
Thank you for changing my diapers which had to be no thrill.
Thank you for hugs and kisses and for teaching me to walk
Thank you for your Big smile the first time you heard me talk!
Thank you for running to my rescue when you heard me cry and call
Thank you for being my Doctor through my many scrapes and falls.
Thank you for Bible stories teaching me about God's Golden Rule
Thank you for getting me up each morning and seeing me off to school.
Thank you for encouraging words when I was down in the dumps
Thank you for nursing me through my days with measles and mumps.
Thank you for saying no when something was not good for me
Thank you for watching my back against dangers I could not see!
Thank you for the times when I know at the table you did without
To give me an extra portion so I would not complain and pout.
Thank you for not billing me for all the deeds you've done
The debt would be too great to be paid by me your son.
Thank you for molding me and shaping me into a good man
Thank you for being a Mom that is really grand!
Mom, I could go on forever adding thank you to my list above
For a million different ways that you showed and proved your love.
So I'll close this poem by adding one more line
"Thank you God for such a wonderful mother as mine!"
