WHEN MY LOVE

When you could have been foot loose and free
You chose to give your love to me.

When you could have had them all in hand
You chose to love me and no other man.

When you could have sought after fortune and fame
You chose instead to share my name.

When you could have lived so fast and wild
You chose instead to bare my child.

When you could have stayed on that path you trod
You took my hand to follow God.

When you could have turned and went the other way
You whispered to me "I'm going to stay!"

When you could have been a Princess across the sea
You chose to give your love to me.

When I treat you wrong forgive me my love
Remind me that you were sent from above.

When you were born God kissed your feet
Then set their course that we could meet.

Our paths crossed that day at T, G. &Y.
Thanks to that one beyond the sky.
