And Comes A Leach

by Lewis E. Thomas
10/19/2012 / Poetry

I am able bodied with no reason not to work for a living!
But why should I work, when my Government is so giving?

I get checks and food stamps every month in the mail!
All I have to do to earn it is sit on my lazy tail.

No need to take responsibility for my life and get a job!
I take from the working class who are taxed until they sob!

No need to teach my children how to stand on their own!
I am a Liberal Dog clinging to my free bone!

I claim to be free, but really, who am I really kidding?
I am a slave to handouts and I do this master's bidding!

I must cast a liberal vote regardless of my Holy Convictions!
My Liberal Master is against any Conservative Restrictions!

I have been turned into a lazy, life-draining, economic leach!
My Master should be facing that word that we call "IMPEACH!"

I watch my country going bankrupt funding my Free Ride!
I keep right on taking because I have; not one ounce of pride!

My Nation is staggering with debt, Her Monetary Coffers drained!
I'm part of the Citizenry that has thrown America into "Economic Pain!"

I am a parasitic leach and a lazy abomination!
"I am sucking the very life out of my own Nation!"

Scripture Ref:

For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
Exodus 20:15
Thou shalt not steal. (Note: Taking from those who earn it when you did not earn it is stealing!)
Proverbs 21:25
The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labor.
Matthew 25:
26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:
27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.
28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Proverbs 18:9
He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.
Proverbs 10:5
He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.
Proverbs 20:4
The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing.
