WHAT IT TRULY MEANS TO BE BORN AGAIN (PART 2)

by James Manning
12/21/2012 / Christian Living

If you have not read part 1, I do advise that you do so,

Think you,

Whosoever Is Born Of God

1 John 3:8 - 9 (KJV) 8He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

We saw the last time how our theologians changed the meaning of these verses by changing the word 'commit'; and making it to mean to practice. By defining this word as to practice, they were saying that they did not practice sin, but their sin was only a mistake; and there is a big difference in practicing and making a mistake.

But we saw that the Greek word that is translated 'commit' means to make or do; and that in fact it is saying that he that is born of God will not do a single act of sin

We corrected the problem by taking a look at the word born; and showed that the word 'born' means to procreate (properly of the father. and that the word 'born' in 1 John 3:9 is the same Greek word that is translated to conceive in Matthew 1:20

Matthew 1:20 (KJV)

20But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

And we reached the conclusion that John by the Holy Spirit was saying in 1 John 3:9; that whosoever is born (or conceived) of God do not commit sin.

Brothers and sisters, we have been conceived of God; you are God's seed; and as the seed of God it is impossible for you to sin.

You are identified as the sons of God only as you walk in the Spirit.

The virgin birth as a sign

Even the birth of Jesus carried a twofold meaning; first we do know that the birth of Jesus was fore told; and that he came to fulfill the will of the Father God in birth, living, dying, burial and resurrecting on the third day:

Jesus virgin birth or conception was also a sign of another virgin birth or conception that was to follow.
Isaiah 7:14 (KJV) 14Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Here we see that the virgin birth of Jesus was a sign given by God; a sign always points to something else; that is it points to something that is in similar form. Jesus birth or conception was pointing to another virgin birth;

Not of the will of man; nor of the will of the flesh

John 1:12 - 13 (KJV) 12But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

In verse 13 we see the word 'born' again; this is the same word that is translated 'born' in 1 John 3:9, and 'conceived' in Matthew 1:20:

Notice how verses 12 and 13 are connected to verse 14 through the use of the word 'and'; the word 'and' is a conjunction and its purpose is to join and continue the previous thought with the following thought. Now, exactly what does verse 14 say?
John 1:14 (KJV) 14And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Now prick up your ears; the same word that conceived and contained Jesus in the womb of Mary; is the word that conceives and contains his people, the church, in the womb of these earthen vessels.

Your life with Christ is hid in God the word or seed.

Colossians 3:3-4
King James Version (KJV)
3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

To be hid in God is to be hid in the word or seed of God, because the word or seed is God.

My friend, your earthen vessel contains the womb (the womb is your heart) that carries the seed of God and in due season will bring forth the sons of God into the earth.

In The Beginning Was The Seed

John 1:1 (KJV) 1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

I use to have a problem understanding verse one of John 1:1; I use to wondered how can God be with Himself and then create all things by Himself; I had this problem until the Lord told me to read verse 1 in the following manner,

In the beginning was the seed, and the seed was with God, and the seed was God.

Then I realized that God's word is also His son and His seed, which is the same as my son being my seed,

Now you tell me, what do you do with a seed? You hide it in the ground

Jesus said except a seed falls into the ground and dies it abide alone; and it says here in

To be hid in God is to be hid in the word or seed of God, because the word or seed is God.

My friend, your earthen vessel contains the womb (the womb is your heart) that contains the seed of God and in due season will bring forth the sons of God into the earth.

We will pick up here the next time,
