in vain across snow-scarred
hills---through village parkland
between homes
scattered far and wide
and the bars offered no hope
as I continued my quest.
I sought Him behind the façade
of men and their scheming
ways---card games to amuse
to no avail---then drugs
and booze added to my pain.
Where is this Jesus I asked?
And a voice began to whisper
warming my whole being
I am here it said---surrounding
you at all times
everywhere and anywhere.
