we headed out
in weather like this
wind a-blowinâ
snow a-blisterinâ
eyes squinting through
branches adorned
with the pale colour
of a winter storm.
Our feet encase in
weathered boots
bodies covered by warm
jackets---mitts cozy
and a back pack
firm on our frame.
A hiking type of day
