Lord, may your Holy Word,
convict me of my sin . . .
may it penetrate my inner life
and cut out the pride within.

May it humble me,
with the edges of its power
may it break through my mind
so to unfaithfulness, I will cower.

May it make me obedient,
with its piercing truthfulness
may it infiltrate my soul
so I can see my uselessness.

May it help me to be faithful,
with the sharpness of its might
may it make a way into my heart
so I will be pleasing in Your sight.

May it make me a conqueror,
with its discerning knowledge
may it breach the stony places
so Your grace I can acknowledge.

Lord, may your Holy Word,

until it is You ~ who lives within
