LETTER TO A MOONIE

by ralph jackson
2/20/2013 / Short Stories

Thank you for your return letter to my reply to Rev Moon's book.

You are right, my interpretation of the Bible will not reunite Christianity, so I do not think we can agree. Why do we differ in our understanding? It is because we are looking from different observation points. I will not reply to all of your suppositions but will give a few thoughts.

You cannot eradicate the truth that comes from the Bible by either taking out doctrines that you disagree with, or adding to them from a dubious source of inspiration.

During Christ's time, the Jews thought they knew all there was to know about God and when someone who came and preached that which did not agree with their understanding, they crucified Him. Those who hold to the Bible and the Bible only in these last days will be persecuted again by those who are trying to bring about a heaven on this earth. Jesus did not force His will onto others, but those who believe they are doing God's will on this earth, will use every available means to bring those who stand by the Bible, into subjection to their will and understanding.

My mind is free to think as it will and to study the Bible for myself that is God's gift to me - it is not for another to tell you or me what we should or should not believe. But the RC Church disagrees: they say that 'freedom of thought which is against their teaching is heresy'. How could I join a church that takes my free will away?

I believe that the Bible as we have it today is absolute truth written by inspired men who were filled with the Holy Spirit. It is a collection of books that speak of Jesus throughout its pages. The fact that it is 66 books, rolled into one, and written by different authors over 1600 years, attests to its divine origin. I do not believe that it can be added to, but that is what your teaching is doing.

(Today many of the new translations of the Bible are being desecrated by taking out important texts which may cause divisions in the Christian churches. This evil is designed to blind men to the truth of the original text and bring one common goal the unification of the worlds churches).

I see a lot of Eastern influence in Rev Moon's teachings. You believe in the immortality of the human soul, which the Bible does not teach. You forget that the plan of salvation included the sacrificial blood of a lamb and that Jesus was the last lamb to be slaughtered. He died that humanity might live eternally. Why would He do this if our souls are already eternal? It doesn't make sense. Unless I accept His sacrifice, then I will die in my sins. I am not a god and in myself I can do nothing to attain immortality, it is a gift of God through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ. Whilst I agree with you that I must fulfil my part on this earth, I am to be a messenger of God. I cannot force or coerce others into believing in my understanding of His Word, I can only share by word of mouth and example, as I am led by the Holy Spirit. To convince by subtlety or force would put me on the side of Satan.

The Earth. God did destroy the earth at the flood. He did not destroy the circle of the earth and make a new one. I said in my last letter that He destroyed the known ECCO system. The earth, when completely covered with water changed its atmospheric condition and when the waters receded there was no more lush vegetation to produce the oxygen content it had before the flood, consequently everything, including mankind grew smaller over time and the long ages of life were finally reduced until the ages we live today.

Interpreting the earth, heaven and hell as symbolic does not come from the Bible. Noah's earth was real, therefore the earth that is cleansed with fire will be real. The globe of the earth will remain, but everything that is on it and under it will be consumed by fire and cleansed. Sin has to be completely eradicated. When the fires are finally out, the earth will be cleansed and we will once again inhabit an earth that was intended for us. It is the earth made new. (The translation of Hell is merely grave, place of the dead or pit (where the dead are buried.)

We agree that Satan will be destroyed at the end time. This will be by the fire that comes down from heaven from God. It is the consuming everlasting fire that surrounds God this fire is where the saved will live. Read Isaiah 33: 14-16.

According to my Bible, Jesus came from Heaven where Our Father lives. He was with the Father and is eternal. He is not a created being. He chose to become a baby in human form to fulfill the plan of salvation for mankind. If Heaven is symbolic, then where did God live before He created the earth? Where did Lucifer live? Where did the angels live? Jesus was omnipresent before He gave this up to become human. He came down from the throne of Heaven to this earth. If you read the Bible, it says there are 3 heavens. One is the place where the birds fly, the second is the Universe we live in and the 3rd heaven is where God lives. I fear Rev Moon's teachings are far from Bible truth.

Kingdom on Earth. My question to you is: Which doctrines in the Bible will I have to change or destroy from my understanding for me to conform to your understanding of the Bible? You say you have the truth? You have the freedom to believe this and even though I may not agree with you, I would never attempt to force my understanding on you.

I have listened to your 'truth' and I cannot support it with the Bible. I also believe that I have the truth and can support all my arguments with the Bible. Could we both be wrong? I am sure you will say you are not, as I say I am not. Will I therefore have to be re-programmed to your way of thinking? How will you do this? And if I do not want to change, will you use force against me? Did the reformers, who believed as I do, die in vain? They saw the errors of the church in its interpretation of the Bible which it kept from the masses because it was the only source of truth that could expose their hypocrisy and lies. History attests to the use of force in religious matters and time will tell if this will happen again in the not too distant future.

I hope that you come to the realisation that God gave us His Bible as a route map through this life and an understanding of where our journey is to take us. He explicitly warned us not to add to it or take anything away from it. I will see God in my flesh, just as Job said he would.

But your dead will live, their bodies will rise. You who dwell in the dust wake up and shout for joy. Your dew is like the dew of the morning the earth will give birth to her dead. Isaiah 26:19.

Thank you for the opportunity of learning more about Rev Moon's teachings, which has been most helpful in re-enforcing my belief in the Bible.

Yours in Christ

Ralph Jackson
