God or god?

by Alfonso Abels

Wondering who the real god is? "How do we get to know the true God?"

Do not worry. You are not only one seeking the answer to these questions. Many people struggle daily with these issues.

However, we must never conclude that all religions worship the same god. Studies of the various religions prove that they are by no means doing so.

There is merit in thinking that the True God certainly wants to reveal Himself to the world. The cultures of today worship a god on basis of realizing that there is The True God.

Faith is caused in our hearts in order to believe that, what is written in the Holy Scriptures, is really true therefore He is worthy to be served. He is the only One who can heal, solve problems, guide you through life and provide in your daily needs.

Despite the many gods, It would be proper to worship Him. Sadly, worshippers, firstly, decide what is the terms and conditions of worship and, secondly, we define the god we worship. This effectively results into idol worship excluding the true God from our worship.

Religious facts indicate that the god, it is quite logical, of choice determines how he should be worshipped. The worshipper cannot determine the practice or terms of worship. The god should also define himself the worshipper cannot.

The question then arise: "How can a limited being define and determine the practice of worship of an unlimited being without the unlimited being's help?"

We should not indulge in starting, based on the factors above, any type of religion. The god should reveal himself to the people before they decide to worship him.
Not surprising that there is so much religion in the world.

Many people realize there is a god, but made up their own god. They felt comfortable with it resulting in the substitution of the true God for what they decided the true God should be. This does not mean that you are worshipping Him when you are busy with your religious acts.

Having religion or faith in a god is a definite sign of spiritual awareness. However, very, very important, the worshipper must realize that he/she should have faith in the true God.

There is the danger that they might be worshipping a made up god unwittingly. One should be wary of this instead of just blindly accepting whatever religion was presented to them. This ignorant belief in a false god, whilst gaining momentum, eventually leads to respectability by many people.

"Can I take what I have had strong belief in and just throw it away because someone said it is false?" Beloveds, we do realize that it will not be an easy thing to do.

Likewise, bearing in mind, it will be the same as saying that you were a fool while you were worshipping a false deity. However, everyone, finding themselves in such a situation, should realize that it is better to look foolish and rectify the problem.

We can thus wholeheartedly place our faith, our hope, our everything in Him. He is worthy to be followed and, just as Him, engage in charitable events, e.g. giving to the poor. Worthy is the Lamb that was slain for us!

1Co 13:13:' And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity."

Amen!
