Know Him?

by Alfonso Abels
3/20/2013 / Christian Living

Beloveds, the story about a prematurely born baby, who was taken up in a hospital`s neonatal unit, really interested me.

Being light in weight, the baby seemed well at birth, but complications crept in. Whilst hospitalised, the baby received a spiritual visitation. Two angels came to visit her at her bedside.

However, she later died. In fact, the angels came to fetch her." Safe in the arms of Jesus" one would say.

Many times one would hear these words at the grave of a loved one. Are we really safe in the arms of Jesus? Only God knows.

We will thus need to ask ourselves:"Where will we be one day? "Bear in mind, we determine our destination. Many invitations have gone out for repentance. Did we accept it? Were it just another case of "Oh what, why worry, I just owe one death." Yes, beloved, we mention these ignorant words.

Nevertheless, saved, dedicated Christians can be assured of a place in heaven. Remember, the baby has died sinless. Gracefully, she, not enduring the pains and struggles of this damned earth, was shortly borrowed to her parents.

This brings us to the point that we need to repent our sins to God as time waits for no man! However, we can rightfully ask: "Who is God?'Firstly, upon answering the raised question, we need to take a look at current world affairs. Why?

We are shown that something went horribly wrong. Sins infect the whole world. Arguably, we may state that we were made the way we are today. Unfortunately, that will definitely militate against the thought of a pure God, a moral God.

Window dressing type of life change disinterests God. He only sees the true being and situation. The true God is pure and wants you to be likewise. That will be an absolute impossibility for any person to reach under normal circumstances.

No religion in the world will ever tell you that you must be as pure as the god they worship. The "'usual gods'" want you to reach a certain level of acceptable purity or provide some kind of sacrifice.

Yes, beloved, it may sound wrong to be pure as the real God. If He did not make impurity in us, why will He still allow it? This definitely causes one to think seriously on this issue.

Bear in mind, Biblical studies and relationships with Jesus are the keys to pureness and a better future for the saints. One do not know the true God if you do not know the Bible or have no relationship with God.

Only He can reveal Himself to the world. God plays a decisive role in man`s future. Without God, there is no future. Based on this discussion, the decision then, without any doubt, eventually lies within oneself to follow the true God.

Amen!
