Over the years we have seen the global economy go through many major shifts. The world of brick and mortar businesses has been labelled the old economy. This is the world that many of us have grown up in and raised to embrace.

From the days of primary school to all the levels of higher learning, the general cycle and expectation of many students and society is to get as much education as one can get and get a good job. As the global economy continually shifts and technological changes take effect we are seeing a whole new league or calibre of entrepreneurs.

It's also interesting to note that many of today's economic trail blazers are school drop outs. Whilst I highly value the power and foundation that the Education systems of the world provide, I can't deny evidence on the ground. I can list dozens of names of entrepreneurs who left school and started businesses that became empires. Many of them were considered to have 'leaning difficulties'.

The new economy is highly associated with the digital age. This is the economy that sees businesses being run using a laptop and internet connection. This provides great mobility and flexibility, working from anywhere and choosing when to work. We are also seeing this in the world of publishing. We have millionaires who have emerged out of writing Ebooks. This is whether they are fiction or non fiction authors. Whilst many are still on the road to become millionaires, they have finally left the 9-5 grind and are controlling their time, earning more and also spending more time with the ones they love. It is well documented that each time there is a new tablet on the market, Ebook sales increase and sometimes double. This emerges as people find ebooks generally much cheaper and more convenient, with a simple device you can store thousands of books. This also means you can shop for Ebooks anytime anywhere! So the allure of both reading and writing Ebooks can't be denied. Traditional publishing houses are well known for their long processes etc, hence denying readers the opportunity to get faster access to new and budding authors. Many authors have been rejected many times by traditional publishing houses and went for the self publishing route via Ebooks. Their fortunes turned over night, as one can imagine the digital revolution has brought gains for the readers and of course for the authors.

This new economy is also extending to things like videos etc and promoting the sale of someone else's products and packages. By aligning oneself with other key players in the market people are finding it easy to promote their products to many people. This is the world of Affiliate marketing, also part of the new rich. Clickbank is major destination for many Affiliate Marketers. This is for both those with products and those looking for products to market and sell for a commission of course.

Simply by selling other people's products and services, many people have left the 9-5 grind and are now proud home business owners. There are plenty of niches to choose from, things to consider will be rank of products, and also your target market or audience. One also naturally has to look at the performance of the product in question. Many simply partner with other players who have long lists etc and have arrangements on how the owner of the list can benefit too from the sales that come through his list.
