Are you leaning to your own understanding?

On the top of my business logo, has the scripture verse proverbs 3:5-6 ' Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.' (AMP)
This scripture is held close to my heart, why? Because I know without God's guidance, without leaning to my own understanding both my business and personal circumstances wouldn't have flourished like it has today.
Unfortunately in the past I became an expert in leaning to my own understanding. I set up businesses though they had a customer base I wasn't passionate about them, there was only one thing on my mind, money!
There are times when you have quiet periods, and during those times I became frustrated there was no peace in leaning to my own understanding. Finally I gave in realising my way wasn't working, 'Okay Lord I tried doing things by myself it's time to surrender to you,' was my exact words in prayer. To think I could have saved myself so much time and headache if I've done it God's way in the first place.
Believe me there is a massive difference when you lean to your own understanding and when you allow the Lord to direct your path. I now ask you the question, do you lean to your own understand in situations? It could be in terms of career, friends, finances, writing etc. How do you feel leaning to your own understanding? If you're truthful you would be frustrated, have no peace, not getting anywhere.
Now is the time to make a change. As Christians we must allow God to direct our paths. He knows what is best for us; he knows the beginning and end. If you want a peaceful, stress free, decision making then seek God's guidance, trust and wait.
Sometimes in life we do get disappointments you may not get what you always want i.e. it could be a job, or a house but don't worry about it God has better. There are times when publishers turn down my author's work. I don't even question them concerning it in fact I say thank you to them because though they think it's their decision it's the Lord stating this is not the right publisher for this author. There is nothing wrong with the publisher it just wasn't in God's will because if it was they would have said yes.
The Lord always gives the right publishers for my authors the working relationships are wonderful. Don't despair when things don't go your way and do not lean unto your own understanding, pray seek guidance, and wait because when God does things he does it in abundance and with excellence.
