7 Scriptural Reasons Why The Psychic Lied To You About Your Dead Relative

by Pastor QT Nyathi
5/29/2013 / Death

Psychics claim that they can connect us to our loved ones on the other side. In other words they can bring your loved one back to life again, if only for a few seconds. Here are seven solid Bible-based reasons to show you that neither you nor the psychic can bring your loved one back again.

1. You cannot bring him back again because he that goes down to the grave shall come up again.

As the cloud is consumed and vanishes away so he that goes down to the grave shall come up no more. He shall return no more to his house; neither shall his place know him anymore.
Job 7:9-10

Death is a one-way street my friend. Once he is gone he is gone. He is not coming back; at least not in the present order of things. You just have to accept this fact.

2. You cannot bring him back again because God will not allow him to come back again.

He answered, "Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my Father's house, for I have five brothers. Let him warn them so that they will not also come to this place of torment." Abraham replied, "They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them."
Luke 16:27-29

The rich man's incessant request to have the dead come back to communicate with the living was denied by God. God's jurisdiction extends to both Hades and Paradise (or heaven in our case) as seen from this account. Remember that according to Romans 14:9 the Lord is Lord of both the dead and the living.

3. You cannot bring him back again because God specifically disallows it in his holy word.

Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead.
Deuteronomy 18:10-11

In the Holy Scriptures God repeatedly prohibits His children from talking to the dead. Going against His word is disobedience which results in curses and all sorts of problems. Check the state of any community or nation that practices consulting the dead.

4. You cannot bring him back again because there is a set time when God will bring him back.

Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear his voice and come forth- those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.
John 5:28-29

You cannot bring your loved one back because the time set by God for the dead to rise has not yet come. When that time comes he shall come up again to the resurrection of life or to the resurrection of condemnation.

5. You cannot bring him back again because he exists in a totally different state and realm altogether.

Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him but he cannot come back to me.
2 Samuel 12:23b

The dead exist in a state and world which is completely different from ours. David realized this. One day (after you die) you will be like your departed loved one but he cannot come back and be like you. Even if he wanted to speak to you would not get it because you are broadcasting from different frequencies.

6. You cannot bring him back again because the living must talk to the living and the dead must talk to the dead.

Why seek ye the living among the dead?
Luke 24:5b

The opposite of the above scripture is also true, Why seek the dead among the living? According to the rich man and Lazarus account in Luke 16 the dead can talk to each other but they are not allowed to talk to the living. The dead can talk to the dead. No problem. The living can talk to the living. No problem. The living talking to the dead? Big problem.

7. You cannot bring him back because you just don't have the power to bring him back.

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?"
John 11:25-26

No matter how hard you try you cannot resurrect your loved one. You just don't have the power to do so. Only God can raise the dead. Even then those who are privileged to come back to life in this age will eventually die again unless they are alive when Jesus comes.

Don't be deceived by death peddlers and demons. Leave the dead alone. Let them rest in peace otherwise you'll lose your peace by attempting to communicate to them.

P/S Oh, another thought just crossed my mind. You cannot bring him or her back again because you didn't bring him or her to this world in the first place.
