While sitting upon my horse one day,
Amidst a field of ripening hay,
In the distance, riding a reddish brown bay,
was a cowboy, hurrying, coming my way.
I didn't know whether to go or stay,
On that beautiful, golden fateful day,
But the cowboy rode closer upon his bay,
And I liked what I saw coming my way.
How tall and handsome he looked that day,
Beautiful hair, not an ounce of gray,
His auburn locks catching ev'ry sun ray,
Slender and gorgeous, and coming my way.
Such strength, I marveled, that warm spring day,
His muscles rippling in an exciting way,
His fragrance the scent of fresh mown hay,
And his lashes, so long, I began to sway.
I couldn't move, couldn't run away,
For his liquid brown eyes begged me to stay.
We came face to face that glorious day,
And he promptly kissed me, in his own special way.
I lost my heart to another that day,
In the field amidst the ripening hay,
He had to be mine, come what may,
And from his side, I never will stray.
Get off that horse, Cowboy, I say,
Hurry... get lost! Get out of my way!
I will be his and will never betray,
My love, my horse, my reddish-brown bay!
