Stand Firm

Jesus warned us of our foes,
the enemies that we will face
He told those who had an ear
to stand firm upon His grace.

He said we would be hated,
and persecuted for our belief
with promises that His own spirit
will bring our soul's relief.

He said we would be ridiculed,
and mocked for His namesake
that our faith and trust in Him
never to renounce or forsake.

He said brothers will kill each other,
as will a father . . . his own child
children will take their parent's life
like lunatics that have gone wild.

He warned us to not worry,
that we should endure to the end
and that our faith in Him
we must be willing to defend.

Jesus warned us of our foes,
the enemies that we will face
I don't know about you . . .
but I can't do it without His grace!
