Dear God-tracker
GOD-TRACKING IS WATCHING GOD'S INDICATORS
"Hello dad!" It was my daughter Kerryn on the phone. "What's up?" I said noting the frustration in her voice. "My car won't start!" Kerryn's car had broken down 20 miles away from home at university and she had no way of getting home. So being the kind and compassionate dad that I am I drove all the way out to where she was stranded to rescue her from a fate worse than death.
When I arrived I discovered that there was nothing I could do to get her car going again and it would cost too much to hire a towing service, so I made the bold decision to tow the car the 20 miles home in busy lunchtime traffic. Now, Kerryn had never towed before so, as I tied the two cars together using a sturdy tow-rope, I gave her some instructions: "You'll need to drive the towed car, because you're not insured to drive my car. Keep a beady eye on my break lights and indicator lights at all times and carefully anticipate my every move." I told her to keep the rope taught by braking for both of us and to steer directly in line with my car as I drove in front of hers. I warned Kerryn that she could not make any turns unless she was following my lead. I'm proud to say that, after a most gruelling and mentally strenuous journey home, Kerryn emerged from the following car a little shaky but triumphant after successfully negotiating a 20-mile vehicle tow.
Tracking the plans and purposes of God is a bit like steering the rear car in a vehicle tow. Following Jesus involves steering your life directly in line with your Lord's leading, watching for his every indication. To stay in line with his course you need to be sure that you keep your eyes on Jesus and at all times: when he turns, turn; when he breaks, break. As you continue to acknowledge the Lord in all you do you will observe his influence on your circumstances and relationships and then you'll need to follow his every move. If, for instance, you miss it when he indicates a right turn and continue moving forward then you'll end up placing a great deal of strain on your tie with him and will probably go off the road. It is, indeed, a delicate process towing a car and it's an equally delicate process tracking God's purposes.
Dear God Tracker, as we track God's plans and purposes for our lives let us make sure that we remain firmly tethered to Christ by his Word and Spirit. Let us continue to acknowledge God in all we do and be sure that we watch his every move, steering carefully in his tracks so that we remain on his road for our lives.
God-tracking is watching God's indicators

A Sample of Dudley's Fave Quotes
"The will of God for your life is simply that you submit yourself to Him each day and say, "Father, Your will for today is mine. Your pleasure for today is mine. Your work for today is mine. I trust you to be God. You lead me today and I will follow." --- Kay Arthur
Don't Give Up, Look Up!
Look up and Fix Your Eyes on Jesus!
I will remain on your in your eternal tracks
Pray:
"O my Lord and my guide, thank you so much that you are in charge of my life. Thank you Lord that you are guiding me moment by moment and helping me to track your will. I'm sorry if I have, at any time, taken my eyes off of you. Lord, I fix my gaze on you and watch for your every move as I steer my life in your ways. Help me to turn when you indicate turn and to stop when you indicate stop. Help me to never strain our relationship by going off by doing things my own way. Today I tether myself to the unseen hand of God so that I will remain on your in your eternal tracks. In Jesus' name. Amen."
