GOD-TRACKING IS MAKING YOUR PLANS GOD'S WAY

Dear Tracker

GOD-TRACKING IS MAKING YOUR PLANS GOD'S WAY

The great missionary and God tracker, Hudson Taylor had definite ideas about how God's work should be done. He'd say, "We can make our best plans and try to carry them out in our own strength or we can make careful plans and ask God to simply bless them." Then he would add, "Yet another way of working is to begin with God; to ask his plans, and to offer ourselves to him to carry out his purposes."

To me, this epitomises the concept of God-tracking. The scripture tells us that God knows the plans he has for us and that these plans are to our benefit. Yet here's the thing: it is God who knows his plans for us but we don't; not until he reveals them, that is. Any wonder the word of God goes on to say that we will only realise God's plans if we conscientiously seek him in prayer.

You may be reading this today thinking, "I have such hopes for my future. I've made big plans and know that they will all work out if I put my mind to it." But if you would just pause for a moment and consider the story of Hudson Taylor: He spent 51 years in China in the mid-1800s and was responsible for bringing over 800 missionaries to the country who began 125 schools that resulted in 18,000 Christian conversions, as well as the establishment of more than 300 stations of work in all eighteen provinces. Taylor's ground work paved the way for the growth of the Christian Church in what is now, communist China. Today, in that land, more people go to church on Sunday than in the whole of so-called, Christianized Europe (BBC News Magazine, 12 September 2011).

Let me encourage you to acknowledge God before you make any plans and seek him with true heart. Put your mind on God's word God's word in God's will and seek his purposes before you make your plans. Then commit your activities to him and seek his blessing; God's blessing brings success; God's blessing is his endorsement on all you do. If you do this then I am confident that your plans will work out, for his glory. This is what God-tracking is all about.

God-tracking is making your plans God's way.

Every blessing

Don't Give Up, Look Up!
Look up and Fix Your Eyes on Jesus!

I seek your blessing on all I do

Pray:
"Dear Lord I am sorry for running off and attempting to do things my own way. Lord, I admit that have made plans without first seeking your will. I renounce my selfish plans and turn to seek your loving hand on my life once again. I acknowledge you in all my ways my work, my recreation, my sport, my relationships and my church life and trust that you will direct my life's track from here on. I consciously commit all my plans to you and ask that you will take away anything that is not your express purpose for my life. Dear God, as with Hudson Taylor, I know you have big plans for me. So I seek your blessing on all I do as I humbly submit to your planning. In Jesus' name. Amen."
