Burning Passion for God!

We live in a day where there is a significant amount of training, seminars and conferences for everything you can possibly name, especially on the subject of leadership. In most leadership books and seminars they will tell you, true leadership can be defined as "Influence". Whatever or whoever has the "influence" has the leadership. So, if that is true and I believe most people would agree with that statement. We must ask the question. What or who is truly influencing our generation in the times we live in? Those types of questions must truly be asked in order to change our current culture for the better. The greatest influencer/ leader of all time was the man Jesus Christ. He was able to take 12 men from all different types of back grounds and change the World. In 3 years time with these 12 men, they created a stir with a message that burned in the hearts of men when they heard it and touched a generation forever. Still today the influence they had is spread all over the world in churches, televisions and in our living rooms. Jesus was able in a short time to create a burning passion in the hearts of men that caused them to come and follow him and live a life of faith that never had been seen before. Today we need to be inspired once again to leave everything like the disciples did and follow Him with reckless abandonment!
Not only was Jesus a great man of influence He was a man that inspired people to follow Him. In Job 32:8, says- "But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding". The word inspiration means here "God Breathed". We need to be inspired once again in our churches, youth groups, home groups, high schools, and universities. We need God to breathe on us again and again in a fresh way. So we can burn with a great passion for this generation and the lost just like Jesus did! The bible says, "As He is so are we in this world". That burning passion that Jesus possessed was a passion He received from the Holy Spirit. We need the influence of the Holy Spirit and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to once again be real and relative in America, in our cities and in our churches. We see great miracles and true hunger in 3rd world countries for God to touch them ever where we travel. I have come to this conclusion. The same Holy Spirit that is in Africa and Central America is the same Holy Spirit that is here in our churches and all of America. When the Holy Spirit descended from Heaven and landed on Jesus, that moment thrust Him into His ministry!! Then He told us in the Gospel of Luke to wait for the promise of the Father and to be endowed with power from on High! The ministry of the Holy Spirit is readily available for us today to demonstrate the power and love of Jesus Christ. When we allow Him to influence us and lead us. When we allow Him to inspire us once again and breathe on us in a fresh way, He Will burn us and mark us with the same passion and burning that Jesus possessed. Then we too will be a generation and a church changed by Holy Ghost fire. Then we can truly say, "As He is so are we in this World". Burning for the lost, changing a generation and being led by the influence of the Holy Spirit!
