I Believe!

by Steve Countryman

Those two words carry incredible power! You are not a Christian, you are not a child of the Most High God, Jesus does not call you friend, the Holy Spirit is not in you and heaven does not exist to you if you do not believe. The Word of God, His truth, God's promises, His will and Jesus dying for our sins all found in God's Word but it is worthless to you if you do not believe it. Don't get me wrong, just because someone doesn't believe doesn't mean that God's Word isn't true! There is too much fact out there that supports the Bible and what it says is true. But you have to believe in something and even atheist have strong faith just to believe that there is no God. Do you believe enough to walk by faith in His Word? Faith does not move God but is an acknowledgement of what God has already provided for you to take possession of. Does your faith believe that what God says is the only real truth and do you expect to see it manifested in your life daily? Hebrews 11:6 "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."

If you have faith but don't believe in God's Word how does your faith work? If you have faith and don't believe that God's Word is for today then how does your faith work? If you have faith but trust more in man's wisdom than in God's wisdom how does your faith work? If you have faith but you think that abortion is okay then how does your faith work? If you have faith but think that fornicating living like couples living together, homosexual marriage and casual sex is okay then how does your faith work? If you have faith but believe that hell and the Devil don't exist then how does your faith work? If your faith is based on a belief system that is full of holes and lies then what are your chances of staying a float in your life boat of faith? The Devil's plan is for you to buy into political correctness, diversity, tolerance and new age thinking. Because if you will compromise your thinking then you will compromise your beliefs. His plan is to dilute your faith and pollute your beliefs so you will exclude your God from your life!

But if you root your faith in the entire Bible and believe that God the Father sent His One and only Son, Jesus, to die upon a cross for your sins and rose again on the third day then you can believe that whatever you ask of Him it will be done for you! John 14:13-14 13 "And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it." Matthew 21:22 "If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." It takes you aligning your faith and trust in God and His Word to see it manifested in you daily if you will believe!

To believe requires you to make the decision to do so. it is a choice! As a Christian you are required to do one thing and that one thing is to believe. Mark 5:35-36 35 While Jesus was still speaking, some people came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader. "Your daughter is dead," they said. "Why bother the teacher anymore?" 36 Overhearing what they said, Jesus told him, "Don't be afraid; just believe." Mark 16:17-18 17"And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well." John 1:12 "Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." John 3:12 "I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things?"

Luke 10:27 He answered, "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' In this commandment we are told to love the Lord your God. This is not a request or a suggestion but a commandment. We are told to choose to love God. We as His children are also to make the choice to believe in Him. Not if we feel like it or when we are in the mood but to do so always To love your God and to believe in Him are both choices that we must make if we are to walk in the fullness of God. You must decide to love your God and to believe in Him to put your faith into action! You can't have faith in a God that you do not believe in! Why not start and end all of your prayers with "I believe in you Lord!" John 11:40 Then Jesus said, Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?
