Forced Universal Healthcare

by Stanley Davis
11/29/2013 / Politics

When Barack Obama signed the healthcare reform bill in to law in 2010, it became another step in a totalitarian rule. Something I believe even a liberal democrat does not want. It was one more nail placed in the proverbial coffin of America. It is one thing to offer a uniformed healthcare, but for it to be forced on a sovereign nation is something impious. I want to believe some good may come out of it, but then I remember it comes from the same people who brought us all the other government programs that do not work. They just bleed the taxpayer of more money. Money that is already hard to come by. So why should this one be any different, well looking at our present government's track record, it will not be. It is just another way for our leaders to manipulate control of our lives. While some people are in agreement with this, most are not. Heck, I thank God; I can still think for myself, I do not need the government dictating to me how I should live. In any case, I know some people are joyful over the healthcare reform, believing they have dealt a blow of victory for the people, when actually it is another defeat for democracy. What they need to understand is that that joy will be short lived. All those who have relatives in other countries understand what universal healthcare can do. They know the horror that can happen when a loved one is placed on a waiting list for a needed surgery. It could be detrimental, because you will have no choices, since the government has made them for you. Laugh with me if you will, but do you really want to place your loved ones in their hands. I hope not. Understand, most hospitals are supposed to operate nonprofit. That means if someone is already below the current poverty level, he or she can get assistant. Now ask yourself this question, why does the government really want this healthcare reform. The answer is clear, if you want to see it. At any rate, whether you take part in this universal healthcare or not your taxes will go up in one form or another. Those on subsidies will not escape either, because the cost of goods and services will increase to supplement the demand of Obamacare. In addition, those wanting a minimum wage increase need to understand too, if wages go up, so does everything else. Is there any question who will pay the price, what legacy are we leaving our children and grandchildren. I know most of the masses only think of themselves, but one day there will be a reckoning. The account will be settled.
