Dear God-tracker

GOD-TRACKING IS WALKING IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF JESUS, EVEN ON THE WATER

The concept of God-tracking is based upon the understanding that God has a deliberate and exclusive designer purpose for our lives. It has been said that God works in mysterious ways to perform his wonders. I would agree. However, what sometimes appears mysterious to us is pure logic to God. As the scripture tells us, "For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom." Therefore, as we seek to track God's unique plans for our lives we need to operate not according our own human logic but according to faith in God's often mysterious ways.

Late one stormy night out on the Sea of Tiberias, Jesus' disciples were straining at the ores to keep their small boat upright. The wind was howling through the mast and rigging. The others were shouting commands to each other but Peter was silently wondering why Jesus had sent them on ahead in the boat. Surely he knew there would be a storm? Didn't he care if they perished? What was his purpose in all this? Just then Peter heard Thomas shriek above the wind, "Out there! It's a ghost!" Peter looked up, squinting in the rain. Sure enough, there was figure standing out on the water. They all began to panic but then they heard the voice of Jesus reassuring them that it was him. "Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water." Jesus said, "Come." Peter stepped out of the boat onto the raging lake and literally walked on the water in the footsteps of Jesus. But when Peter took his eyes off his Lord and looked at the waves he lost faith and began to sink until Jesus rescued him.

It could be that you are facing a new prospect today. Perhaps you're in the throes of changing jobs or hearing the call of God to take a leap of faith into fulltime Christian work. You may be facing a new move on a venture that scares you witless and you're wondering, as Peter did, what's God's purpose in all this? God-tracking requires that we continuously acknowledge God in all our ways and then not trust in our own logic but in God's wisdom to guide us according to his deliberate and exclusive designer purpose for our lives. And God-tracking requires that we constantly look to Jesus, the author of life. If that's you today then take that step out of the boat and walk on water with your eyes on Jesus.

God-tracking is walking in the footsteps of Jesus, even on the water

Verse of the Week

Matthew 14:31
Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?"

Quote of the Week A Sample of Dudley's Fave Quotes "God moves in a mysterious way his wonders to perform; he plants His footsteps in the sea and rides upon the storm." --- William Cowper

Don't Give Up, Look Up! Look up and Fix Your Eyes on Jesus! Thank you that you do have a deliberate and exclusive designer purpose for my life and I accept it in faith
Pray: "Dear Lord, I am afraid to take that step out of the boat, even when I know it's you out there on the water. I am sorry for this, O Lord. Sometimes your plans for my life appear mysterious at times but I know that you have good reason for doing the things you are doing in my life. I commit my ways to you and I commit my future prospects to you. I acknowledge you in all my ways and trust that you will direct my paths. Help me to take that plunge; help me to make this move, in faith and not in human reason. Thank you that you do have a deliberate and exclusive designer purpose for my life and I accept it in faith. Praise you, my Lord. Amen."
