The Miracle of God

From the very beginning (the moment of New Birth) when a soul is Born Again, the miracle of God is what was required for such a birth. This is why it is so often referred to as "the miracle of New Birth". Apart from an absolute miracle of God, there is NO New Birth. Regardless of how well the preacher or teacher communicates, or even how attentive, receptive, understanding and agreeing the hearer is, Man (in his absolute best ability) is entirely incapable of being Born Again.

John 1:13 (KJV) 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

John 3:3-7 (KJV) 3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

Mark 10:23-27 (KJV) 23 And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! 24 And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. 26 And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved? 27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men [it is] impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.


If we truly knew this, and if this were what motivated our hearts: that New Birth is entirely the miracle of God, and not accomplished by Man's preaching or teaching, or even by Man's willingness to accept or agree with what is said... then we would no doubt be more grateful and thankful unto God for His Gracious Gift. We would naturally be more dependent upon God in all things as well, especially when we shared with others concerning His Salvation. In our sharing of His Great Salvation, we would also make known the absolute inability of Man to enter into such a state. The soul apart from Christ is in a state that is in dire need to be saved from the very condition that it is in, for it to come to the very Purpose for which it was created of God. And so, there is the utter necessity to cry out unto God for His mercy to save the soul; knowing that "...With men [it is] impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible." (Mrk 10:27). No man can accomplish what God alone can only accomplish.

Also, it is not so much saved from etc..., but it is saved for... The object of The Salvation of God is not Man, but God Himself. Remember that the soul was created of God for His very own Purpose: the appearing of Christ His Son in it. In the Old Testament this can be seen with the type and shadow (the picture) of Israel (God's firstborn Son) being promised an inheritance (the land) (Gen 12:4-7; Gen 13:14-18; Numb 34:1-2; Ex 34:9; Gal 3:16). But the promised inheritance was in such a wretched state due to the inhabitants, that while in that state, it was not fit for it's intended purpose.

The very second thing that Jesus did after turning the water to wine (this being the first) (Jn 2:12-22; Jn 2:1-11) was go into the temple and drive out everything that was offensive to God, and He replaced it with Himself, the only One Who is pleasing to God (Matt 3:16-17; Matt 17:3-8; Mrk 1:9-11; Mrk 9:4-8; Lk 3:21-22; Lk 9:32-36; 2Ptr 1:16-19). This is what actually happens at the moment of New Birth. At the very moment a soul is Born Again the entire state of the soul is changed based upon The One Who now occupies it. But unlike in the Old Testament (with our example) where there was a constant struggle back and forth of taking possession and loosing possession of the promised inheritance that lasted several decades and generations, there is no back and forth (or time lost) with Christ. The very moment The true Israel of God (Christ: The Son of God) appears in His promised inheritance (the soul), the whole entire condition, the whole entire state of the soul has once and for all changed and is now found in The Purpose for which it was created of God. Life is now present because Christ (Who is Life) is now present (Jn 10:10; Jn 11:25; Jn 14:6; Rev 1:17-18).

A soul, once having been Born Again, in like manner requires no less than a miracle of God to now know this New Birth, which is simply to know The Christ that is present (Christ Himself is The New Birth of the soul). This is entirely the miracle of God, and not Man's preaching or teaching, or even Man's willingness to accept or agree with what is said, or even Man's own personal study concerning the matter etc... can in any way accomplish what God Himself can only accomplish.

Please do not misunderstand, I am fully aware that God chose the foolishness of preaching to save those that believe, "21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe" (1Cor 1:21). And also, "8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, [even] in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? 17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Rom 10:8-17).

So then, "1 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh [but] in vain" (Ps 127:1). Also, "...Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, ...But God hath revealed [them] unto us by his Spirit" (1Cor 2:9-10); "4 For since the beginning of the world [men] have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, [what] he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him" (Isa 64:4). From beginning to end, this is the miracle of God. "15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed [it] unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven" (Matt 16:15-17). Remember once again, that just as at the moment of New Birth, "...With men [it is] impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible" (Mrk 10:27).

In this respect, the preacher or teacher and hearer(s), in fact all of Mankind are all at the mercy of God for Him to make known such a great and awesome Christ. This being the case, we all (the entire body of Christ) must equally cry out unto God for His tender mercy and immeasurable grace to make known Him Whom only He can make known (Matt 16:13-17; Gal 1:15-16). That God would make known His Salvation, that God would make known His Christ. This is the continual necessity for the one who is Born Again. And this is: The Miracle of God.
