An Offering of Obedience

It is what we are commanded to do. It is what we are required to do. It is how we prove our love for our God. It is how we prove our faith and trust in our God. It is our faith in action. It is His will active in us. It is His plans for us fulfilled through us. It is blessed assurance of our salvation. It is our willingness and submission to His will for us. It is our alignment and agreement with His Word. It is accepting His judgment, His discipline, His love and grace to change us from glory to glory. It is life changing. It is acknowledging that God is God and there is no other! It is what we must do when we feel like it and when we don't. It is what we must do on good days and on bad days. It is what we do if we understand why, when or how and when we don't. It is what we do to please him and it is why we are here. It is obedience!

Believing in God is not enough. Believing in Jesus is not enough to get you into heaven. Even the demons believe in God and Jesus but they do not willing obey His Word and are not allowed in heaven. Obedience is not having your way but God's way. That takes faith and trust. You must trust God and believe that He knows better than you do and what to do and how to help you do it. It starts with you believing Him and His Word. Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Only through obedience can the richness of God's blessings truly saturate your life! But obedience cannot be conditional. It cannot have limits or restrictions. It cannot be compromised or diluted. Obedience must be done of a willing heart and not with a grumbling attitude. Obedience shines the light of God's love to those around you. It cannot be delayed or put off for delayed obedience is disobedience! You can't fake obedience or pretend to be obedient. You can't be led by the Holy Spirit and be disobedient. You can't expect the promises and blessings of heaven if you are not willing to obey and do, live and say what His Word says. John 14:23-24 23 Jesus replied, "Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. 24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.

Living a life of daily obedience opens doors of faith and works of faith in your life. Obedience leads to righteousness. You cannot walk by faith and be disobedient. God does not require sacrifice but an offering of obedience. Matthew 7:21-27 21 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?' 23 Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!' 24 "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash." To do the will of the Father takes obedience. To put into practice the words of Jesus is to put your faith and obedience into action! All others are 'posers', imposters, pretend Christians and Christian want-a-bees. Obey His Word, His voice and the leading of the Holy Spirit and prove your love for your God!
