Morning by Morning

The Servant of God says "The Lord God has given me the tongue of a disciple and of one who is taught ,that I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary. He wakens me morning by morning. He wakens my ear to hear as a disciple(as one who is taught) Isaiah 50:4- Amplified Bible
The Sovereign Lord has given me an instructed tongue ,to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning ,wakens my ear to listen like one being taught.- Isaiah 50:4 NIV New International Version
The Master God has given me a well 2taught tongue, so I know how to encourage tired people. He wakes me up in the morning. Wakes me up, opens my ears ,to listen as one ready to take orders.- Isaiah 50:4 MSG The Message

Being able to do as the prophet Isaiah admonishes us in the proceeding verse is something most of us strive for. It is one thing to read our Bible in church and another thing to do so regularly at home. This is quite necessary to ensure that we do not encourage biblical illiteracy or allow ourselves become easy prey for deception.
If we are going to be effective followers, we must listen to God. Listen to the way He wants things done, and make hearing Him on a daily basis making a priority.

Although the benefits of listening to God are limitless, I will be the first to admit that this is not very easy. Sometimes after a decision to make sure that every morning, I consciously listen to what God says, all hell breaks loose and my actions do not tally with my decision. This sometimes can be accompanied with feelings that range from guilt, sobriety, hopelessness, the "not quite hitting the mark"feeling to sometimes sheer indifference. But we need not be laden with these feelings as to stop us from pressing on but just keep at it no matter how slow the pace may seem. It is good to have a plan but we should be open to some degree of flexibility especially as there will be days or even weeks and sometimes longer when we find ourselves still ruminating on the riches of a particular verse or passage.

I have also learnt that this "morning by morning" is a dual thing. We can also expect from God morning by morning .I came across a verse which brought comfort and we will look at it in some translations-

"God's loyal love couldn't have run out, his merciful love couldn't have dried up. They are created new every morning. How great is your faithfulness"-Lam 3:22-3 MSG The Message
"That the Eternal's love is lasting and will never fail. Fresh every morning is thy kindness, great is thy faithfulness!".-Lam 3:22-3-Moffatt.
"His love. His incredible love has protected us-we're still alive, aren't we? His passion for us doesn't go hot and cold. It is pumped daily; with every sunrise we get a new brand-new dose of your loyalty and love "-Lam 3:22-3-The Word on the street.

These to me is a great reminder that in God's factory, there is a daily manufacture of love for me. This love is constant and independent of my actions[which I am sometimes ashamed of].This love is one I can count on at all times and this season ,I will like us to remember that the love that took his son to the cross is very much ours still today. I like the translation that says it is fresh. Amazing, as that means it will never expire. Every morning and I mean every morning, there is a new production of his merciful love over our lives. This love never runs out.
No wonder the Psalmist encourages us to say "Thank you".
"Every morning tell him "Thank you for your kindness" and every evening, rejoice in all his faithfulness."- Psalms 92:2 Living Bible

This has changed my approach to morning by morning, I do not only come looking for God's voice but know that He is doing his bit even when I fail .His love you and I is constant, made new morning by morning. No wonder He sent his son to die for us. Let's celebrate this love always.

N.B: A more practical approach to all the 101 things that clamour for our attention during personal bible study is to write them down for later or in this new technology age, put them in a reminder app on your phone(on silent mode hopefully!).
