Warrior Still?

by Thais Sherell J
9/13/2014 / Devotionals

Weve danced the danceSatans under my feet. Weve sung the songs Im a soldier in the army of the Lord, We declare war and so on. We have even triumphed over the small trials and obstacles in our life. So now what? Are we so strong that we can take it easy, and let our hair down, so to speak? Do we lighten up on our praise, and take in some worldly literature and music that does absolutely nothing to build us up in Gods ways?

Well if youve purposed in your heart that you will live or die for the Man, Jesus Christ, and have done the above, you may be in for a reality check. Dont you know that Satan is just waiting for one little opening in which you take your mind away from God and then WHAM! He hits you with a hard blow that makes you want to pray for death. Do you still want to be Gods warrior? Do you still want to serve him? Do you still want to live or die for him? Prayerfully, YES!

We are in the last times and we can not lose our focus for one moment lest we be defeated. Im not talking about the war, for the war is already won, but we can lose little battles in the war if we do not watch our position.

Recently I had a blast that hit me like a kitchen sink, but thank God for preparation. It seems as though I walked right into the landmine, but like Daniel in the Lions Den, God shielded me from the mouth of the devourer and kept me in perfect peace.

In just the blink of an eye I found myself standing before the judge of man; he believed that he held my fate, yet I knew the power belonged to God. It was a situation that could have been avoided had I not ignored the voice of God that said, Stand still; let me handle this. Instead, I let my flesh do the walking right into a trap, and only Jesus kept me from going under. All this happened because I purposed in my heart that for God I will live and for God I will die. I put my life in Gods hands and said, Use me for your service; here am I Lord. So, the burden was placed on my heart to do a huge event to come forth this summer, an event that would reach many souls, and so all hell seemed to break loose. Praise be to God that He that abideth in the secret place of the most high shall abide in the shadows of the almighty (Psalms 91).

So warrior, when Satan pulls the ground from under your feet, will you continue to stand on God, His word and His promises? Will you be a WARRIOR still?
