Purification

Jesus is Eternal Life. He is ultimate Love, Truth and Wisdom. He is the personification of Righteousness.

These beautiful descriptors of Jesus, I like all of God's children am in awe of; overwhelmed by the reality that they will ultimately and fully apply to our own personhood. I say this, thinking of the Apostle Paul praying for the saints to be able to comprehend the love of Jesus. For in doing so, He knew we could attain the fullness of God (Ephesians 3: 14-19). Imagine that!

And that brings me to Jesus also being our Sanctification. Though we don't know yet what we'll look like, in terms of our eternal form and substance, the power of His sanctification does help us to partake in and form now as our own, His internal nature.

It works by simply keeping our eyes and hearts on the sure faith that we will look like Him; that we will be as He is.

There is a divine change that takes place in us when we use devotional time to meditate on His life, death, and resurrection; when we study His word; when we think about Him throughout the day; when we converse with others about Him; when we converse with Him in prayer.

When we fixate on becoming like Him at his return and sharing in His glory, His sanctifying power - all of which is within us at any given time - is measurably released for the purification of our hearts and minds. The extent to which this power is released is equal to the extent of our surrender to it.

To surrender is to purify ourselves. It's an acceptance of cleanliness throughout the entire being. Mind, heart, and body members are affected.

In this way, our love, truth, wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and life will become pure as He is pure.
