CHAPTER ONE
OUR TESTIMONY
After our ministry started in 2007, we began to invest in the publication of messages that God gave to us. Interestingly, we had just moved in to a mini flat some months earlier, from a single room [face-me-I-bless-you type of room, which my wife and I refer to jokingly as 'piggery' a house for pigs].
Though the flat was owned by an Alhaji, yet we found the directory of a fast-growing church in the empty house. God led us to use the addresses in that directory to contact the saints in about 30 states in this nation. Of course, we left the book there by the time we changed our accommodation.
So we published some materials and posted them free of charge to different states in Nigeria. God blessed our efforts and responses began to come from Sokoto, Kano, Kogi, Oyo, Kwara, Delta, Bauchi, Lagos, Osun and Imo. We spent several thousands of naira. It seemed as if we were just wasting money. There were little or no financial returns then, but we continued sowing the seeds.
As the ministry grew, we wanted to buy a computer set to make the work easier. We needed about N15, 000. But to our surprise, a man whom God has blessed through us, gave our ministry an elegant computer, a flat screen monitor with a keyboard and a mouse which he all bought in Dubai. He had moderately used them. The computer set must have cost between N50, 000 and N100, 000 or more.
Some time later, I left Lagos for Kaduna and Kano where I worked as an assistant site engineer with a civil engineering company. But after the Lord Jesus appeared to me, I wept as I told my wife that we were going back to Lagos. So I resigned from the 'promising' job and we came back to Lagos in obedience.
Months later, we had a programme. Unknown to us, God told one of the people there to give us a car. He didn't respond immediately because he wanted confirmation. According to him, very early one morning, about 5:30, his little son of about 6 years woke up and told him to give us the particular car. He was surprised because it confirmed what God had told him shortly before then.
Eventually, he gave our ministry the car free of charge! It looked like a dream. I don't covet other people's possessions or money, but I trust God to bless us in his own way and at the proper time.
Now I want to share with you what has taken me about 20 years to learn about Godly financial & material prosperity. There is good or bad success, the blessing of the Lord or of the devil, the prosperity of the wise or of fools, divine wealth or ill-gotten wealth (see Josh 1:8, Pro 10:22, Pro 1:32).
The following chapters will teach you the twelve right keys to Godly financial and material prosperity.
 
CHAPTER TWO
MAXIMIZED RIGHT THINKING

"Be careful how you THINK; your life is shaped by your THOUGHTS" (Pro 23:7, TEV).
"Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you THINK" (Ro 12:2b, NLT).
The seed of prosperity or poverty starts in the mind, but its fruit manifests physically with time. You cannot think poor and become rich. Your life moves in the direction of your most dominant thoughts as someone said. It means if your mind is full of thoughts of poverty, then the same poverty that dominates your mind will dominate your life.
No wonder the Scripture reveals, "As a man THINKS in his heart, so is he" (Pro 23:7).
But if your thinking is filled with prosperity, then sooner or later, it will become a reality in your life as long as the other factors are in place.
That's why Solomon wrote, "The THOUGHTS of the diligent tend only to PLENTEOUSNESS [PROSPERITY]; but [the THOUGHTS] of every one that is hasty to WANT [POVERTY]" (Pro 21:5).
Jesus Christ was rich, yet for our sakes, he became poor, so that through his poverty, we might become rich according to 2Corinthians 8:9. So your prosperity is God's will.
Do you think it was in vain that John exhorted Gaius: "Beloved, I wish above all things THAT THOU MAYEST PROSPER and be in good health, even as thy soul prospereth" (3Jn 2)?
To maximize your thinking on prosperity, you have to let the word or thoughts of God along this line dwell richly in you. Get soak with revelation from the Bible and good books on this subject until you know that you know that you can never be poor!
A dear servant of God took his Bible and the book "God's Will Is Prosperity" by Gloria Copeland to a lonely place for 2 or 3 days to know the mind of God about wealth. He caught a revelation that brought revolution to his life and the lives of thousands of others that has become genuinely rich through his ministry.
As a result of what he discovered in those 2 or 3 days, he declared back then, "I can never be poor." At another time, he said, "If you don't think, you will stink."
Friend, think big. How big is your God? Don't think small. Our God is not small. Your imagination and perception should change. Just imagine yourself being a rich person. Picture in your mind constantly the kind of prosperous life God wants you to live. Picture yourself living in godly wealth. Keep that picture alive in your mind. See yourself living in a decent house, having a good job, driving a beautiful car, putting on nice clothes, having great investments, keeping a fat bank account, and so on all to the glory of God.
Genesis 11:6 implies that "nothing will be restrained from you which you have IMAGINED to do" as long as your mind is united with God's mind. You have to get rid of wrong imaginations but engage your mind in right imaginations (2Cor 10:5). Imaginations are mental pictures!
 
CHAPTER THREE
MAXIMIZED RIGHT BELIEVING

"Jesus said, 'If you can BELIEVE, all things are possible to him that BELIEVES' " (Mk 9:23).
If you believe that financial and material prosperity is yours in Christ, then you will see the glory of God; but if you refuse to believe, then you will witness a nice harvest of poverty and shame (1Cor 3:21b, Jn 11:40).
You must be like Abraham, who against hope BELIEVED in hope that he might become the father of many nations. So in the face of staggering opposition and hopeless financial crisis, we must believe by seeing the invisible hand of God bringing favour into our labour.
You see, when Job was at zero level financially, materially and so on, he said, "Though he [God] slay me, YET WILL I TRUST IN HIM: but I will maintain mine own ways before him" (Job 13:15).
After that man of faith had suffered and suffered and suffered, the Scripture says, "After Job had prayed for his friends, THE LORD MADE HIM PROSPEROUS AGAIN and GAVE HIM TWICE AS MUCH AS HE HAD BEFORE" (Job 42:10, NIV).
Friend, no matter what you are going through, if you believe, God will restore your wasted years, in Jesus' name. But without faith, you can't please Him.
Hebrews 4:2b (AMP) reveals, "BUT THE MESSAGE THEY HEARD DID NOT BENEFIT THEM, BECAUSE IT WAS NOT MIXED WITH FAITH (WITH THE LEANING OF THE ENTIRE PERSONALITY ON GOD IN ABSOLUTE TRUST AND CONFIDENCE IN HIS POWER, WISDOM, AND GOODNESS) by those who heard it; neither were they united in faith with the ones [Joshua and Caleb] who heard (did believe)."
 
CHAPTER FOUR
MAXIMIZED RIGHT CONFESSION

Wrong thinking brings wrong believing, which leads to wrong confession. Only right thinking brings right believing, which results in right confession (2Cor 4:13).
Mark 11:22-24 mentions "BELIEVE" once but uses "SAITH" or "SAY," which connotes confession three times. That means you have to triple [multiply by three] your effort on faith confession for many things including prosperity. So when you believe God for something 'once,' then confess your faith for that same thing 'three times.'
God taught the Israelites that they could have whatever they said with their mouth when He instructed Moses: "Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, AS YE HAVE SPOKEN IN MINE EARS, SO WILL I DO TO YOU" (Numb 14:28).
Actually, these people spoke negative words in God's ears and HE made sure they got what they confessed.
That's why Solomon warned us: "Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouthbut the mouth of the upright shall deliver themDeath and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof" (Pro 6:2; 12:6b; 18:21).
When Prophet Elisha prophesied that by a particular time the following day a measure of fine flour will sell for a shekel and two measures of barley will sell for a shekel at the gate of Samaria, a palace officer responded, "Behold, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this be?"
To this, the man of God said, "You will see it with your eyes, but you will not eat any of it" (2Kin 7:1, KJV, 2, NIV).
This officer used his mouth to limit the unlimited God (Ps 78:41). His wrong confession closed the door of his life to prosperity. Friend, be careful what you call impossible; and don't talk yourself out of prosperity.
Eventually, God restored prosperity to the land the following day as prophesied by Elisha, but that palace officer saw it but did not partake of it. He received what he said (2Kin 7: 16-20). Your life can't be better than your confession!
Whatever God has said in His Word concerning your prosperity, keep saying the same thing (Heb 13:5-6, Ps 35:27). E.W. Kenyon was right when he wrote, "You possess what you confess" (see Obadiah 17).
You see, the stronger the financial hardship, the stronger your confession should be (please see Joshua 1:8, Hebrews 4:14, Hebrews 10:23).

FAITH CONFESSION FOR FINANCIAL & MATERIAL PROSPERITY
Say this aloud:
"The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want...Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life" (Ps 23:1, 6).
"For I know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for my sake he became poor, so that I through his poverty might become rich" (2Cor 8:9).
"The LORD has restored my fortunes, I am like a dreamer, my mouth is filled with laughter, my tongue with songs of joy.
Then it is said among the nations, 'The LORD has done great things for him.' The LORD has done great things for me and I am filled with joy" (Ps 126:1-3).
"God has given me the treasures of darkness, riches stored in secret places" (Is 45:3).
"My name rings in the ears of those connected to my financial and material prosperity. My case is heavy upon their hearts. My terror fastens its teeth upon those delaying or opposing my financial and material success.
There shall be no more delay and hindrance to my financial and material blessing for it is written, "The King's heart is in the hand of the Lord; He directs it like a watercourse wherever he pleases."
Therefore, my God-send helpers' hearts are in the hands of the LORD and He directs them to fill my barn, my house, my path, my bag, my pocket and my hands with the blessings of God, in Jesus' name. Hallelujah!"
 
CHAPTER FIVE
MAXIMIZED RIGHT LIVING

Jesus warned, "WATCH and PRAY, that ye enter not into temptation" (Mat 26:41).
Many people have been praying for years, but they do not watch. So they wonder why things are not working for them. Jesus did not say, "PRAY and WATCH" because watching comes before praying. You have to watch different aspects of your life so that your prayers will not be ineffective.
You have to watch out for:
i. RIGHT CHARACTER
You have to live a holy life with no unconfessed sin in your life if you want to receive and enjoy godly financial and material prosperity (Pro 28:13, Ps 1:1-6, Jos 1:8, 1Jn 3:22).
So you must never cheat in business, exams, politics, marriage, ministry and so on. For example, landlords should collect 1 year, 6 months, 3 months or less at a time as rent and estate agents should receive the percentage due them, which I think is 10 percent!
Otherwise, they will spend any amount of money they make by oppression, manipulation, injustice or extortion on sicknesses and sorrows (Pro 15:27, Jer 17:11, Ez 22:13-16, Is 56:10-11,1Tim 3:1-3, 8).
Also, learning from these scriptures above, as a business man or woman, you must neither sell your goods nor render your services at too high and unfair prices. That is greed mixed with wickedness! And the Bible says there is no peace for the wicked.

ii. FULL OBEDIENCE IN THE RIGHT ASSIGNMENT/MISSION
"If you FULLY OBEY [in your actions] the LORD your God and CAREFULLY FOLLOW [in your hearts] all his commands I give you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee [running ahead of you as divine supply ready before your needs arise], if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God" (Deut 28:1, NIV, 2, KJV).
So those who are WILLING [in heart, with love motive] and OBEDIENT [in action in right character, in right assignment] will eat the best of the land of their assignment the land God sent them to, not the land they choose to go on their own (Is 1:19).
I have come to believe that God's assignment for your life determines the measure of wealth heaven will apportion to you while how best you can maximize each of these 12 keys determines the degree of wealth you will acquire within your God-destined measure.
Actually, divine provision is meant for divine vision. God assigns you a measure of wealth according to your assignment, but if you don't take the right steps, you may never get the wealth.
No one can receive anything unless it is given him from heaven (Jn 3:27, Ps 127:1-2). So YOU CAN MAKE YOUR OWN WAY PROSPEROUS AND BLESSED WITH GOOD SUCCESS 30, 60 OR 100 PERCENT within that measure (Josh 1:8, Mk 4:20)!
iii. RIGHT PLANNIG
"[Put first things first.] PREPARE your work outside and GET IT READY for yourself in the field; and AFTERWARD BUILD your house and ESTABLISH a home" (Pro 24:27, AMP).
People don't plan to fail, but they fail to plan as someone noted (see Lk 14:28-30).

iv. RIGHT INVESTMENTS (Pro 3:5-6)
v. RIGHT SAVINGS (Gen 41:33-36)

i. RIGHT ASSOCIATION
Partnering in business with a non-tither who lives under a curse will affect your finances (Mal 3:8-9). Of course, you can trade or work with non-tithers, but never make them your partners or associates.
The Scripture says, "Walk with the wise and become wise; ASSOCIATE WITH FOOLS AND GET IN TROUBLE" (Pro 13:20, NLT).
ii. RIGHT FAMILY PLANNING
Some people will give birth to more children than they can conveniently cater for, hence bringing self-inflicted financial hardship upon themselves (Pro 4:7).

iii. RIGHT HONOUR TO YOUR PARENTS
"HONOUR THY FATHER AND MOTHER; which is the first commandment with promise;
THAT IT MAY BE WELL WITH THEE, AND THOU MAYEST LIVE LONG ON THE EARTH" (Eph 6:2-3).

iv. RIGHT HONOUR TO YOUR SPOUSE
"In the same way, you husbands must give HONOR TO YOUR WIVES. Treat your wives with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God's gift of new life. TREAT HER AS YOU SHOULD SO YOUR PRAYERS WILL NOT BE HINDERED" (1Pet 3:7, NLT).
 
CHAPTER SIX
MAXIMIZED RIGHT SKILL

Solomon wrote, "But SKILL will bring SUCCESS" (Eccl 10:10, NIV).
You see, many people are struggling to experience financial success without any result, perhaps because they are using the wrong skill. If God ordains tailoring or manufacturing skills to bring you financial success, then concentrating your energy on teaching skills may bring you financial survival.
You have to discover the right skills God wants to use to bring you financial boom. Your skills could be tailoring, carpentry, engineering, trading, managerial, hair dressing, driving, writing, musical, singing, communication, acting, nursing, manufacturing, medical, surgical, banking, accounting, publishing or something else.
This discovery is necessary for your recovery. Some years ago, two different ministers of God in different places and at different times revealed by the Spirit of God that I was not supposed to be a classroom teacher because such teaching skills were not destined by God to bring me financial freedom and abundance. [God has ordained teaching skills to bring financial success to some people.]
You see, what brings boom to one man may bring doom to another man. So if God wants you to acquire a new skill, go ahead and do so before it's too late!
Moses warned, "But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God; for it is he that giveth thee POWER TO GET WEALTH, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers as it is this day" (Deut 8:18).
The word "power" in Hebrew as used in this verse above means "ability, technical skill, capacity or force." So if God wants to bless or make you wealthy, he may not drop some big money in your lap. Rather he will give you the right skills to get wealth.
God used agricultural skills to make Abraham, Isaac and Jacob rich (see Gen 13:2; Gen 26:12-16; Gen 46:33-34; Gen 30: 29-36, 42-43). In fact, agricultural skills were the dominant skills of the Israelites (Gen 47:1-6, NIV).
Interestingly, the Scripture says if you will fully obey God and carefully follow him [in the prescribed manner of love], He will "open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless ALL THE WORK OF THY HAND" (Deut 28: 12, see verse 11, NIV, too).
Once you've discovered your right skill to wealth, perhaps out of your many different skills, then develop it diligently to the maximum be your best at it.
Solomon wrote, "Lazy HANDS makes a man poor, but diligent HANDS bring wealthSeeth thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men" (Pro 10:4, NIV, Pro 22:29, KJV).
The expression: "Seeth thou a man diligent in his business?" above is rendered as, "Do you see a man SKILLED in his work?" in the NIV.
You see, a man who is diligent like Joseph or Daniel, in his God-chosen work or business will stand in honour before kings, not in dishonor before slaves.
God used Peter's fishing skills to meet his (Peter's) and Jesus' financial needs at a point in time, despite the fact that Peter was already in active ministry (Mat 17:24-27).
Similarly, He used the tent-making skills of Apostle Paul to bring money into his hands so that he could support himself and his co-labourers (Acts 18:1-3, NIV, Acts 20:33-35). You see, many pastors, evangelists, prophets and so on may be struggling financially today because they have dropped their right secular skills, which God never asked them to drop!
Unless God specifically instructs you to drop your secular skills, you should follow the wise advice of a seasoned man of God, who said, "You don't have to go into full-time ministry until your hands are full of God's work."[So you can do a part-time job to raise money to meet some needs. That was what Pastor Adeboye and Pastor Kumuyi did till they went into full-time ministry.]
 
CHAPTER SEVEN
MAXIMIZED RIGHT TIMING

Eccl 3:1, 11 reads, "To every thing there is a season, and a TIME to every purpose under the heaven
He hath made every thing beautiful in HIS TIME."
Bob Gass noted, "All the apples on a tree don't ripen at the same time."
Eccl 9:11 reveals, " The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but TIME and chance happeneth to them all."
John Avazini has explained that a missing ingredient in today's teaching on prosperity is the need for patience because between sowing time and harvest time is growing time (Jam 5:7).
Paul exhorted, "Do not be deceived; God is not mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the PROPER TIME we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity let us do good to all people especially to those who belong to the family of believers" (Gal 6:7, 9-10, NIV).
Ebenezer Obey [now an evangelist] sang years ago: "Humanity is confused because they don't know the seasons of life. My case is in the hands of God."
Also Evangelist Niyi Adedokun sang: "My friend, don't be in a hurry. Don't hurry ahead of God. If you do, it is dangerous."
 
CHAPTER EIGHT
MAXIMIZED RIGHT OPPORTUNITY

Eccl 9:11 reveals, " The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and CHANCE happeneth to them all."
The word 'chance' here means 'opportunity.'
Paul exhorted, "Do not be deceived; God is not mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Therefore, as we have OPPORTUNITY let us do good to all people especially to those who belong to the family of believers" (Gal 6:7, 9-10, NIV).
Again Paul warned us, "Be very careful, then, how you live not as unwise but as wise, making the most of EVERY OPPORTUNITY, because the days are evil" (Eph 5:15-16, NIV).
Different opportunities come at different times. Some are almost always there. Some others come a few times in a lifetime while some others still, come once or twice in 60 years!
I believe, sometimes you may have to create your right opportunities. You don't sit at home wasting away hopelessly and waiting endlessly for great opportunities that may never arrive.
I know a man who grabbed the opportunity to work as a gate keeper in an oil company. While doing this low-paid job, he went to the polytechnic part-time to educate himself for better future opportunities.
Eventually, a better opportunity showed up in the same company, and he got a higher position with a better salary.
Today, he is one of the top persons in that company, and the Lord has blessed him with wealth. Nevertheless I think he is not satisfied or contented because at times he seeks evil powers, which is sinful and dangerous (2Kin 1:1-4, 15-17; 1Chr 10:13-14). Maximize your right opportunities.

CREATE YOUR RIGHT OPPORTUNITIES
A poor widow who was battered by debt cried out to a prophet. The prophet's reply was, "How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house? Then she said, "Your servant has nothing there at all, EXCEPT A LITTLE OIL."
That little oil changed her story and brought her some financial blessings (see 2King 4:1-7). So what do you have in your house, in your hand or in your heart? What is your own little oil?
It could be that little money to begin a little business, that little idea to start training others, that little space to begin a project or that little experience you have that can help you to start showcasing your talent! Remember that many big things began small (Mat 13:31-32)! You may be thinking big but starting small.
 
CHAPTER NINE
MAXIMIZED RIGHT PRAYER

"As long as he [King Uzziah] SOUGHT THE LORD, God made him to PROSPER" (2Chr 26:5).
Eph 6:18, (NIV) says, "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with ALL KINDS OF PRAYERS AND REQUESTS."

i. PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING
Paul encouraged, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with THANKSGIVING, present your REQUESTS to God" (Phil 4:6, NIV).
We should thank God for what he has done, he is doing and he will do.

ii. PRAYER OF PRAISE
Also we should praise him for who he is. Strong faith gives glory to God in the face of challenges but weak faith complains. Praises release the power of God because He is enthroned on the praises of His people (Ps 22:3, Ro 4:20).
Remember the praises of Paul and Silas led them from bondage to freedom (Acts 16:23-26). Praises, among other things, can be used by God to catapult you from financial bondage to financial freedom.

iii. PRAYER OF AUTHORITY
"Thou shalt also DECREE A THING, and IT SHALL BE ESTABLISHED UNTO THEE: and the light shall shine upon thy ways" (Job 22:28).
This involves giving a command of what you desire to happen. So you must command Satan to take his ugly hands off the amount of money you need (Jn 14:13-14, Mat 18:18) and tell your angel to go and bring it unto you (Heb 1:14, Ps 103:20).
This is one of the things I do that has really helped me. After God had given us the computer set, we couldn't use it because we needed a UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply). So I decided to pray about it. And my wife joined.
While I was still decreeing what I wanted, someone called on the phone that he was sending us some money. That was how we bought it.
Sometimes you may need another person to pray with you [in agreement] if you have fairly strong faith (Deut 32:30) or to pray for you if you have weak faith.
You may need to pray like this if you are born-again, "I renounce you spirit of poverty and command you to lose you grip over my life in Jesus' name."

iv. PRAYER OF INQUIRY
This is basically asking God questions that will give you direction in life. When David was in crisis, he inquired of God asking questions whether he should take a particular step or not.
And the LORD replied, "Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all" (1Sam 30:8).
David obeyed and that experience brought some prosperity to him as well as to others (see verses 18-26).
v. PRAYER OF REQUEST
Remember Paul urged, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with THANKSGIVING, present your REQUESTS to God" (Phil 4:6, NIV).
Sometimes prayer of inquiry should come before prayer of request. The Israelites made a mistake by presenting a request for a king without first inquiring of God whether it was His will or not.
God promised to grant their wrongly timed request but gave them this warning: "And ye shall cry out in that day because of [the oppression you will have brought upon yourselves through] your king which ye shall have chosen you; AND THE LORD WILL NOT HEAR YOU IN THAT DAY" (1Sam 8:18).
A similar thing happened in the wilderness when God gave them their request, but sent leanness to their soul (Ps 106:15)! Ask for wisdom. Ask for right creative ideas. Ask for the right thing at the right time.

vi. PRAYER OF INTERCESSION
When Job interceded for his friends, God restored his wealth. He gave him double of his former fortunes (Job 42:10). He sowed a prayer seed, but reaped a financial and material harvest. Mike Murdock noted, "Whatever you make happen for others, God will make happen for you."

Note: You need to pray in an unknown tongue regularly, too if you have been baptized with the Holy Spirit (1Cor 14:2, Ro 8:26-27).
 
CHAPTER TEN
MAXIMIZED RIGHT FASTING

The Scriptures reveal, "Howbeit this kind [of demon] goeth not out but by PRAYER AND FASTING
"Is not this the FAST I have chosen? TO LOOSE THE BANDS OF WICKEDNESS, TO UNDO THE HEAVY BURDENS, TO LET THE OPPRESSED GO FREE, AND THAT BREAK EVERY YOKE? " (Mat 17:20-21, Is 58:6-8).
Jerry Falwell, is the founder and chancellor of Liberty University, USA. In desperation, he fasted for 40 days on two different occasions within 105 days. The results were fantastic!
When he began the first 40-day fast, he kept asking God for money, but God told him not to ask HIM for money. Rather he told him to draw near to HIM so that he could know HIM better (Jam 4:8).
So by the time he finished this long fast, he felt he had learnt some important lessons from the Lord, yet the issue of money had not been settled. He could not settle his debts incurred from running the university.
After 25 days, he started another 40-day fast, during which he really prayed about money. Eventually, God gave him more than $52 million dollars and renewed accreditation for Liberty University! What a mighty God we serve.
 
CHAPTER ELEVEN
MAXIMIZED RIGHT GIVING

FORMS OF GIVING
i. TITHE
In Malachi 3:8, God says that his people had robbed him in tithes and offerings. Then in verse 10, he says, "Bring ye ALL THE TITHES into the STOREHOUSE, THAT THERE MAY BE MEAT IN MINE HOUSE, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not OPEN YOU THE WINDOWS OF HEAVEN, and POUR YOU OUT A BLESSING, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.."
From this verse, it is clear that tithes should go to the local church so that the pastors can use them to take care of the ministers [including themselves], widows, the fatherless and strangers (see Deut 26:12-13). A tithe is ten percent of your income or of any gift you receive. And it belongs to God. You see, a student need not tithe his school fee.
In the King James Version, the expression, "there shall be room to receive it" in this verse 10 above is written in italics because it is not in the original Hebrew text.
So John Avazini explained that if you remove it from the tail end of that verse, you will get this phrase: "thatnotenough." So what are not enough?
Actually, God was saying that all your tithes as an individual will open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing, but that not enough. That means all your tithing is not enough!
Avazini further said that your tithe will open the windows of heaven for you, but your offering determines the 'degree' of the blessing you receive.
Interestingly, I found that to be true because in verse 8, God was talking about tithes and offerings, whereas in verse 10, he focused on tithes only, and concluded that tithes are not enough! The reason is that tithing is only the beginning of giving.
So if I have N30, 000 for example, ideally, I would give my tithe of N3, 000 to open the windows of heaven over me. Then I would also give a quality offering of between N2, 000 and N3, 000 to receive a good harvest because the measure [percentage, not amount] I give determines the measure I get back [please read Luke 6:38, Mark 12:41-44]. And God has been wonderful to us according to his never-failing Word!
But, if God wants me to give a sacrificial offering, then in obedience to Him, I may give N10, 000, N20, 000 or everything left according to the leading of his Spirit in my heart for as many as are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God (Ro 8:14).
You see, his word never fails to work, but we fail to make it work for us we don't apply it correctly. We are like the fellow who read on a medicine bottle: SHAKE BEFORE USE. So he shook the baby instead of the bottle!
ii. OFFERING (Mal 3:8) iii. ALMS (Is 58:7-11, Acts 10:1-4)

GUIDELINES ON RIGHT GIVING

Pastor E. A. Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God gave a testimony of how God showed him in a vision or dream that he had planted his seed(s) in a cemented floor. This was wrong sowing which would produce no harvest. So he corrected it. May you not waste your precious seeds in the wrong places for some grounds are not fertile (see Deut 12:13-14). There is a level of giving that brings you into abundance.

a. DON'T EAT YOUR TITHE, GIVE IT TO YOUR LOCAL CHURCH
Eating it allows the devourer to frustrate your life and destroy your work. It makes you operate under a curse (Malachi 3:8-9, 11). It can bring sickness, misfortune, armed robbers' attack, demonic attack, and so on.

b. DON'T EAT YOUR SEED [OF OFFERING]
Paul wrote, "And [God] Who provides SEED FOR THE SOWER and BREAD FOR EATING will also provide and multiply your [resources for] sowing" (2Cor 9:10, AMP).
A farmer who eats his seeds to be planted will have no harvest.

c. DON'T SOW YOUR BREAD; EAT PART OF IT AND SAVE THE REST
Bread in the Scripture above does not mean UTC or value bread sold across the street. Rather it means that which is meant for you to eat at present or in the future. Sowing it can bring self-inflicted suffering upon you.
This Scripture says that BREAD is FOR EATING. But you don't have to eat with both hands. Save some. Joseph advised Pharaoh to save 20 percent of the harvest for future use (Gen 41:34-36).
d. MAKE YOUR VOW TO GOD, AND DON'T DELAY PAYING IT (Eccl 5:1-6)
'And she [Hannah] made this VOW:"O LORD of Heaven's Armies, IF YOU WILL LOOK UPON MY SORROW AND ANSWER MY PRAYER AND GIVE ME A SON, THEN I WILL GIVE HIM BACK TO YOU. " ' (1Sam 1:11, NLT).
Hannah's vow was conditional. It was a matter of "If you God will give me this, then I will give you this; but if you won't, then I won't, either."
Oswald J Smith, founder of the People's Church in Toronto, Canada was holding a missionary convention when a hopeless, poor, wretched man came to the service. This man had lost his job during the Depression of the 1930's and his wife as well as two daughters had left him.
He heard this man of God saying, "Give, and it shall be given unto you. You can't beat God giving. God will be no man's debtor."
You see, he was asking people to trust God for a certain amount of money. Then to promise God a portion of it whenever he gives them that money. As matter of fact, it was to be strictly between God and the person. Also it was to be a specific amount which God lays upon that person's heart.
So since this man had nothing at all, he decided to use his faith, though, it seemed stupid to him. He signed up and promised to give back to God a percentage of all He might put in his hands in the coming days.
To his surprise, things began to change for him rapidly. Within a few hours, he got a new job. So when he received his first salary, he gave God the promised percentage. Before long, he got a salary increase and gave God more.
After some time, he got a better job with better pay. And of course, he gave God much more. Eventually, his wife and daughters returned, he became a successful businessman, paid all his debt, became a house owner and received another increase in salary!

e. HONOUR GOD WITH YOUR GIVING
Solomon exhorted, "HONOR the LORD WITH YOUR WEALTH and WITH THE BEST PART [first fruit] OF EVERYTHING YOU PRODUCE.
So shall thy barns be filled with PLENTY, and thy presses shall burst out with NEW WINE" (Pro 3:9, NLT, 10, KJV).
You must never treat God like a beggar. Even most beggars may not appreciate useless, torn and dirty bank notes [paper money]. So how much more your Creator!
God said, "For them that HONOUR me I will HONOUR, and they that DESPISE me shall be LIGHTLY ESTEEMED" (1Sam 2:30b).
You see, Malachi 2 talks about honouring God before Malachi 3 speaks of tithes and offerings.

TYPES OF OFFERING/GIVING
i. General offering (Mal 3:8) ii. Thanksgiving offering (Ps 50:14) iii. First fruit offering (Deut 26:2)
iv. Pledged offering [faith-promise offering or vow] (Ps 50:14) v. Welfare offering [offering for the poor saints] (Rom 15:26) vi. Kingdom project offering (Exo 25:1-9) vii. Minister's offering (Gal 6:6, 1Cor 9:11-12a)
WAYS OF GIVING
i. Bountiful/generous giving (2Cor 9:6) This brings a fat harvest.
ii. Sparing/ungenerous giving (2Cor 9:6) This brings a lean harvest.
iii. Cheerful/free will giving (2Cor 9:7) God loves this.
iv. Grudging/forceful giving (2Cor 9:7) God condemns this.

DIVINE PURPOSE OF GIVING
i. To express love to God ii. To express love to man [not to impress man]
The Scripture says, "For God SO LOVED the world, THAT HE GAVE his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (Jn 3:16).
Someone has noted that you can't love without giving, but you can give without loving. Giving should be inspired by the two great commandments (Mat 22:37-40, Luk 6:32-35). God LOVED the world so much THAT HE GAVE
DIVINE BENEFITS OF GIVING
i. Primary/spiritual benefit to lay up treasures in heaven
Jesus told a fellow, "If you want to be perfect, go and sell everything you have and GIVE THE MONEY TO THE POOR, AND YOU WILL HAVE TREASURE IN HEAVEN; and come, follow Me" (Mat 19:21, TLB, see also 1Tim 6:17-19).
ii. Secondary/physical benefit financial, material or bodily blessings
In 1993, I attended a camp meeting where Dr Tunde Bakare shared how God blessed him with an aircraft. He gave us his secret, saying: "God began to teach me series of things, and I began to obey him. At the beginning of the year (1993), HE (God) said, 'SON, I HAVE SEEN YOUR LABOUR. I HAVE SEEN YOUR TRAVAIL. I HAVE SEEN YOUR DEDICATION. I HAVE SEEN YOUR OBEDIENCE. THIS YEAR I AM GOING TO REWARD YOU WITH AN AIRCRAFT.'
He continued, "You can go to the tarmac [at] Murtala Mohammed Airport [Ikeja, Lagos], you'll find a Boeing 707 with Latter Rain Assembly and Holy Ghost in Action written there. How did I get that?"
Later, he added something very important: "It takes SACRIFICIAL OFFERINGS [I believe, done in obedience to God]to move your angels. Some of the labour you perform will not have to be performed. Angels will bring divine connection to you..."
Similarly, several years ago, when God told Bishop David Oyedepo to give his only car to Him, he obeyed and the Lord said to him, "David, my son, even if you don't want to be rich, it is too late."
 
CHAPTER TWELVE
MAXIMIZED RIGHT MOTIVE

Jam 4:2-3, (NIV) says, "You want something but do not get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with WRONG MOTIVES, THAT YOU MAY SPEND WHAT YOU GET ON YOUR PLEASURES."
Solomon wrote, "But to the sinner he [God] gives the task of GATHERING AND STORING UP WEALTH TO HAND IT OVER TO THE ONE WHO PLEASES GOD" (Eccl 2:26b, NIV).
He also wrote, "HE WHO BY CHARGING EXCESSIVE INTEREST AND WHO BY UNJUST EFFORTS TO GET GAIN INCREASES HIS MATERIAL POSSESSION GATHERS IT FOR HIM [to spend] WHO IS KIND AND GENEROUS TO THE POOR" (Pro 28:8, AMP).

3FOLD PURPOSE OF PROSPERITY
i. Soul winning
Just as Jesus came to seek and save those who were lost (Luk 19:10), so he charged his disciples to "USE WORLDLY WEALTH TO GAIN FRIENDS FOR YOURSELVES, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings" (Luk 16:9, NIV, see also Deut 8:18).
ii. Discipleship (see Deut 8:18)
iii. Welfare [of yours and others] (1Tim 5:8, Eph 4:28, Gal 2:10, Pro 28:8)

So you can see from these verses above that if your motive for wanting godly prosperity is wrong, that is, to promote your own selfish interests, not to advance God's threefold purpose of giving prosperity to mankind, then He cannot trust you with big money intimidating wealth or great riches!
Actually, if my purpose of desiring wealth is to satisfy my ego, then I am serving mammon [god of money], and not the living God who was before money existed and who will be forever, even long after money had stopped existing (Mat 6:24).
From the beginning, God has been working to ensure that the wealth of the wicked and greedy eventually gets into the hands of those who would PLEASE Him by SPENDING IT ON SOULWINNING, DISCIPLESHIP AND WELFARE, NOT ON ACQUIRING UNNECESSARY FLEET OF CARS, BUILDING UNNEEDED MAGNIFICENT HOUSES OR HOARDING IT PURPOSELESSLY IN BANKS.
This wealth transfer has been going on from generation to generation, though it will increase rapidly as we approach the end of the age so that God's ultimate purpose on earth can be fulfilled!
Jesus, however, warned us, "Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. LIFE IS NOT MEASURED BY HOW MUCH YOU OWN" (Luk 12:15, NLT).
So wealth should be a benefit of your faith if you are a believer, and not a measure of your faith. Your true worth or measure is not in what you own or have financially and materially, but in what you own or have in heaven as well as the knowledge, character, love and purpose of God you practically walk in on earth (1Pet 3:4, NLT, NIV, 1Cor 13:1-3, 13)!
You can be rich financially but poor spiritually (Rev 3:17-22). Also the Lord said, "Yes, A PERSON IS A FOOL TO STORE UP EARTHLY WEALTH but NOT HAVE A RICH RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD"( Luk 12:21, NLT).
 
CHAPTER THIRTEEN
MAXIMIZED RIGHT PLACE

In the midst of famine and drought, God told Elijah, "LEAVE HERE, turn eastward and hide in the KERITH RAVINE
You will drink from the brook, AND I HAVE ORDERED THE RAVENS TO FEED YOU THERE" (1Kin 17:3-4, NIV).
When the brook dried up, God told him, "Go at once to ZAREPHATH OF SIDON and stay THERE. I HAVE COMMANDED A WIDOW IN THAT PLACE to supply you with food" (vs 9).
There is a place called "THERE." And until you are there, you are almost nowhere. But when you get THERE, things will start working for you miraculously, every other thing being equal.
God told Abram in Genesis 12 to leave for a particular land, which he would show him. In that land, he promised to give him increase (vs 2a), influence (vs 2b) and importance (vs 3)!
By the same token, in the midst of famine, God told Isaac, "DO NOT GO DOWN TO EGYPT; live in the LAND where I tell you to live. Stay in this LAND for a while and I will be with you and bless you
Isaac planted crops in THAT LAND and the same year reaped a hundredfold, because the LORD blessed him. THE MAN BECAME RICH, AND HIS WEALTH CONTINUED TO GROW UNTIL HE BECAME VERY WEALTHYthat the Philistines envied him" (Gen 26:2-3, 12-14, NIV).
Moses told the Israelites, "The LORD your God will bless you in the LAND HE IS GIVING YOU The LORD will grant you ABUNDANT PROSPERITY in the LAND he swore to your forefathers to give you" (Deut 28:8b, 11, NIV).
 
SINNER'S CONFESSION
If you are not yet born-again, say this:
I choose to repent today. Also I choose to believe that Jesus died for my sins and rose up for my justification.
The Scripture says, "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Rom 10:9).
Therefore, I believe in Jesus in my heart and confess Him as my Lord. Now I am born-again (Amen).
 
SAY THIS ALOUD TO RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT
Also Jesus said, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you and you will be my witnesses" (Acts 1:8).
And on the day of Pentecost "All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance" (Acts 2:4).
Therefore, I receive the Holy Spirit by faith right now and I begin to speak in an unknown tongue (unlearned tongue) as He gives me the utterance.
I command every foul spirit [spirit of fear, spirit of unbelief, spirit of doubt, religious spirit, unforgiving spirit] wanting to hinder me to stop in its evil operation in my life in Jesus' name.
Thank you God for filling me with your Spirit in Jesus' name (Amen).
