The interaction of The Trinity with mankind

by Rev. George Pryor
1/11/2015 / Christian Apologetics

All three are co-equal in Existence, Power and Essence. Each has triune + functions in their dealing with mankind. As they carry out their work the fullness of God is manifest to mankind.
This lesson will not be to prove the existence because I accept it as a proven Biblical Fact. In a logical discussion this is called begging the question

GOD
The Father= Grace, Love, Mercy& Justice
The Son= Savior, Friend, Mediator
The Holy Spirit= Comforter, Teacher, Convicter

The Father:

The Father is Gracious:

The simple definition of Grace is receiving that which you don't deserve
The Father has given Grace: (Rm.5:15-16)KJV which says; "But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offenses unto justification." This was not deserved by mankind because of exercising our choice to continually transgress the Law of God. He Graciously imputed the righteousness of His Only Son to those that believe in Him.(Romans 4:22-24)

The Father is Love: (I Jn.4:10)KJV which says; "Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins." God's Love is all around us in the physical form of nature and it's beauty. Most never think of it but His love is shown thousands of times each day if in no other way it is shown every time He allows us to take a breath of His air. If He denied that we would cease to be. You don't have to look to far or to hard to see and experience The Father's
love all around us. The Father definitely is love but He is Not All love. He is also Just.

The Father is Just:( Isa.45:21f)KJV which says; "and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Savior; there is none beside me.", Job 37:23a, which says; "Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment," God is as Just as He is Graceful and loving. That means that the reward for sin is Death. (Rom.6:23) and it will be received by all that do not repentant and accept the work of Jesus for their salvation
He is The Righteous Judge (II Tim 4:8)KJV "Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." He will reward the good as well as the evil.(Rev.20:12-14)KJV "And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." (This is a Real Place)

God does not desire that people perish, but many will because they reject God and His Son's sacrifice for their sins. They will then face the judgment of the Righteous Judge and Lawgiver. The Law will be enforced. If there was no consequence for breaking the law it would be useless. God owns this world and the people of it and He will judge it again just as He did in the days of Noah and that judgment is not far off. Jesus stated the condititition the world would be in that will confirm the sign of His coming .(Matt.24:38)KJV "For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be".

.

The Son

The Son is our Savior:

The primary purpose of The Son of God was to reconcile sinful man and save us from the wrath of God's justice (Jn. 3:16-18)KJV which says; "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." This is the Only way that has been provided for salvation.(Acts 4:12)KJV which says; "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."

The Son is our Friend:

In the Old Testament time men feared God. There is only one man that was said to be a friend of God and that was Abraham. When the Son came He brought salvation and friendship to all that would accept Him. (Jn.15:14-15)KJV which says; "Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you." And (Luke 12:4) Jesus brought in a new covenant for righteousness and because His righteousness has been imputed to us we can come before God boldly and without fear. (Heb.4:15-16) KJV which says; "For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need".

The Son is our Mediator: The son has provided all of this for us but He does not leave us to go it alone. He is the Only one that can approach God on our behalf.(I Tim. 2:5)KJV "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." He is constantly on the job. (Rom. 8:34)KJV "Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us."

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity and He is the one that is active in the earth now. His ministry is also triune. He Comforts us, teaches us and convicts men of sin. I did not mention the most important work of The Holy Spirit as one of the three. Until this happens nothing else will. That is the sealing of our salvation. (Eph. 1:13)KJV "In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,"

The Holy Spirit is our Comforter: Jesus gave comfort to His disciples before He left to return to The Father in Heaven and told them that He was going to send another comforter for them.(Jn.14:16-17)KJV "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you."

The Holy Spirit is our Teacher: Jesus was the teacher of the disciples while He was on earth. That work is now done by The Holy Spirit. (Jn. 14:26)KJV "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." Just like with any teacher, we will not learn anything unless we listen and pay attention when n He speaks to us. Jesus said in (Jn.16:13) that The Holy Spirit would guide us into all truth. He will guide but our following is voluntary

The Holy Spirit Convicts: This a work of The Holy Spirit that no one likes to talk about just like the Justice of The Father, Nevertheless they are a reality just as the other works. (Jn. 16:8) KJV says; "And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:" The NIV uses convict instead of reprove. Once a person becomes a believer we are told not to grieve The Holy Spirit(Eph4:30) This is done when we transgress Gods law and The Holy Spirit convicts our heart and we should feel it immediately and ask for forgiveness and restore our fellowship with God. If we confess our sins we are guaranteed forgiveness, (IJn.1:9 KJV which says; "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

There is a triune balance in everything that God is and does. As seen above He is triune. Nature is triune. It consist of Time, Space and Matter. Each part is also triune. Time is past, present and future. All three are time but neither is the other. The same is true for Space; Height, Depth and Width. And Matter; Solids, Liquids and Gases. With this balance God is Perfect and everything He has made is Perfect. When man refuses to Obey God and follow His own ways everything becomes unbalanced and life becomes difficult because it is hard to kick against the pricks.
SPECIAL NOTE: Theology refers to two Trinities. They are :
The Economic and Ontological
When we say they are equal in nature and attributes, we are speaking of what is called the Ontological Trinity

When we speak of how they relate to each other and the world, we are speaking of the Economic Trinity
