JUDGING OTHERS

by Lewis E. Thomas
2/16/2015 / Poetry

Jack said' My neighbor John broke the law and I should turn him in!
But Jack was blind and couldn't see his "own personal sin"!

Jack justified his law breaking with his "own personal code of law."
While John's lesser crimes just stuck in his craw!

Jack does what is "Right in his own eyes!"
This is an ungodly practice and very unwise.

The State where they live would "judge them both" as criminal violators!
Jack justifies his own violations that are much greater.

This reminded me of Matthew 7:3-5 which can make us wise.
It is a truth that can remove that Beam that is blinding our eyes.

These words of Jesus can keep us from going wrong:
" Let he who is without sin cast the first stone!"

We have all broken one law or another.
Why are we so quick to codemn and point our finger at another?

If Jack turns old John in as you finish these rhymes.
Jack should also "confess" to his own much greater crimes!

If jack and John were both caught God's Judgment would prevail.
Jack would go to prison while John went to jail.

Christians should remove that beam(sin in their own life) before they Judge others.
Then we would be qualified to remove the tiny splinter(sin) in the eye(life)of another.

I hope my rhyme has made things a lot clearer.
BEFORE WE JUDGE OTHERS LETS TAKE A LONG LOOK IN THE MIRROR!

Note:
If you are breaking the laws of our land or God's Law as a Christian you are sinning against God.
Why do we think we can break laws to suit our needs and somehow justify that?

Matthew 22:21King James Version (KJV)

21 They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.

Note:
This means we are to obey the Rulers of the land and the law.

Matthew 7:
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

Note:

God is saying here to get rid of your own sin/lawbreaking first then you can see clearly to help another get rid of his sin/lawbreaking.

Proverbs 21:2King James Version (KJV)

2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the
hearts.

Proverbs 12:15King James Version (KJV)

15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

Proverbs 3:29King James Version (KJV)

29 Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.
