Scripture Passage: Genesis 13:1-11 and Genesis 19:15-26
When You Stop Following the Rewards Depart from You
As long as Lot followed Abraham, he was blessed. Immediately he departed, and went his own way, the blessings began to depart. Eventually, he left Sodom empty handed whereas he had gone in full. The cattle and the herdsmen all disappeared.
The lesson is this; when you stop following, the rewards that came as a result of following depart from you. When a branch is cut off from a tree it will wither and die. Be like Elisha, follow until the end and the rewards will abide until the end.
Prayer: Father, give me grace to be a good follower, because only good followers become good leaders.
