Even Though He is a Defeated Foe, Satan Never Gives Up

Way back in the early moments of earth's creation, man was only a created being in the Creator's mind.
Planets. Stars. Moons. Galaxies. All these had been brought into existence by the Sovereign Lord and His only begotten son.
Genesis 1:26-29, KJV, "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat."
God wanted to have daily fellowship with Adam and Eve, so He left holes in their spirits only He could fill.
The Sovereign Lord cast Satan out of heaven, and the Prince of Darkness was followed by one-third of the angels. A huge shadow of evil fell over all the earth.
Through the serpent, Satan tempted Eve, who ate forbidden fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. "Such beautiful fruit," Eve thought. "It will give me much wisdom." Eve gave Adam some of the fruit, and he, too, ate.
Realizing they had sinned, Paradise became a gigantic hiding place from God, who cast them from the Garden. They attempted to hide their sin with self-made fig leaf aprons. Their self effort was not nearly good enough, and God made coats for them from animal skins.
Thousands of years later, Jesus, the Savior, was born into the world, making it possible for mankind to be reconciled back to God. Through God's Son, Satan would be defeated permanently. Through Jesus' virgin birth, sinless life, death on Calvary's Cross, burial and resurrection, mankind could be born into God's Kingdom.
When Jesus' death on the Cross was accomplished, he cried, "It is finished."
Although Satan realized he had been defeated, he refused to concede the victory to Jesus. Looking into his mirror of pride, he boasted, "I'll fight God until I am cast into the Lake of Fire. I'll never give up, not even throughout eternity. And that's such a long time, a very long time indeed."
