The Beauty of Easter

by David Rester
4/03/2015 / Poetry

After a season of the removal of color,
When vibrancy gives way to browns, grays, and black;
And the sun cuts short it's time of appearance to all,
Often times being covered by clouds, seeming to attack;
Then the light of day, concedes to darkness of night.
Now in the shortness of day, life-giving sun to all, does lack;
And the resemblance of death, awaits the new season,
When the light of day is restored, and new life given back.

Let us with eyes made opened, look upon the glory of new life,
Taking in the vast array of colors, and the beauty; in a new way.
How the flowers are adorned in a variance of magnificent colors,
Knowing that even Solomon wasn't clothed like these in his day.
As new life comes to the grass and trees, in every hue of green,
And as dew and raindrops glisten as jewels upon them, in a sunray.
Their bodies rooted in what nourishes them, giving life to grow,
Holding firm; like a father grasps the hand of a child, so not to stray.

Now we too can have new life, through the Light of the Son,
When we come out of the season of darkness, into the Light;
For it is for this reason we should celebrate this season:
That Jesus, freely gave Himself to suffer and die, without a fight,
Taking the sins of all humankind upon Himself, as a propitiation;
In doing so taking the punishment of wrath, which was our plight;
Then dying on the cross, being buried, in the tomb for three days;
Being resurrected, defeating death, appearing to many, in their sight.

So if you crucified self, and it's sins; accepting Jesus, and new life within;
Don't be concerned with clothing and appearance to those about you,
For you have returned, as the prodical child, to the Father;
Who see you in sandals, rooted in the footsteps of He who is True;
In a tunic of red, which has been emersed in His blood, that is your cover;
There's a beautiful ring on your finger, representing your inheritance too;
And a royal robe of salvation, revealing the assurance, of your Father;
That He is in you, and you are in Him; to honor and glorify, in all you do .

From the day I responded to God's calling, accepting His love, by repenting, and accepting Jesus as Savior and Lord (all through Him, His love, and GRACE); He has continued to grow our relationship, revealing all He desires, for me to know and share. All glory and praise being my Father's---- GOD!
