God Are You Listening?

by Vanessa Grossett
4/22/2015 / Self Help

This is our common statement, when we do not get the manifestation or answers to our prayers, as quick as we would like.

We read the scriptures, 'ask and ye shall receive', and the common one is the prayer of Jabez '"Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain." And God granted his request.' 1 Chronicles 4:10.

We read what we want to read, in order to justify our reasoning into why God should give us what we want straight away, especially when it comes to blessings, and sometimes God does answer quickly, but there are times when He doesn't.

Take Daniel for example, his prayers didn't come into manifestation straight away. Yes there was a spiritual battle going on, but God did answer. We also read of Jeremiah who was prophesising to the people of Judah, warning them of destruction if they did not repent. His prophecies did not come into manifestation straight away, the people there must have thought he was foolish and naturally he got depressed, and frustrated. He must of thought, what is the point to all of this? But guest what? The prophecy did happen.

We live in such a microwave society that everything has to happen now. But God doesn't work in our time frame He exists outside it, scripture says, 'But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you.' 2 Peter 3:8.

However our human nature does kick in, and when we don't see the manifestation of our prayers, we tend to do things in our own strength. I remember at the very beginning with this agency I was desperate for clients. At the time I just had my baby, and with a young baby it was very hard to get out there and network, so I would contact potential clients by email, as well as praying for the manifestation.

Everyday I would check my emails to see if anyone would get back to me, and when they didn't I would lose heart. Eventually someone came back to me, in my heart I knew they wasn't for me, my spirit wasn't at peace with them, but I so wanted to have clients that I took them on, and yes my brethren it was a bad move.

I believe it is very important to communicate, especially if an agent and author are in different parts of the world. They never responded to my emails, the only time when they contacted me was when they wanted constructive criticism of their manuscript, which I gave, I needed to remain professional, and then all of a sudden they decided to end the contract. I felt so used because they only wanted my advice to make their manuscript better; my time was wasted with this client. But then again it was my fault I knew deep down that I shouldn't have represented them. 'Okay God I will stop doing things my way, and just wait. Grow in my craft, grow spiritually, and grow in being a mother.' I said one time in my prayer session.

To date I am pleased to report that I have eight divinely connected wonderful clients, who is meant for me, and vice versa. God put us together and I give Him the glory, as no agent could ask for better clients. Yes I am still waiting for the manifestation on certain things, but guest what? I am not going to do it in my own strength; I am going to wait on Him. His way is the best way.

Brethren remember there is a time for everything under the sun, and what God said He will do, He will do. Seeds have to be planted first so things can grow. An apple doesn't become an apple straight away, after the seed is planted it has to be nurtured, and then it grows into a nice fruit.

So is God listening? I think you know the answer, yes He is. What can you do while you're waiting for the manifestation? Grow. Grow spiritually, grow in your craft, whatever it is you need to grow in, just grow. Remember your prayers have been answered, just trust and obey.

'Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.' Galatians 6:9 NIV.
