Glory, Power and Authority

by Rochelle Arnold
4/29/2015 / Christian Living

In these last days, Scripture points to a time when gross darkness shall cover the earth. The Word goes on to say that a grosser or thicker darkness will come upon the people. It's not hard to see the gross darkness in the world or on the people of the world. Violent crimes happen all the time and they are getting grosser and grosser by the minute.

Christians are turning against one and other because of pride and divisive spirits. Many mainstream denominations have forsaken the Bible for New Age teachings.

Homosexuality is running rampant in our world and now throughout the Church. The enemy continues to deceive many into thinking they are in the will of God when actually they are being influenced by dark, lying spirits of religion and control. Deliverance is being shoved aside and darkness is growing thick.

The good news, however, is that during this time of darkness the Bible says the glory of the Lord will come upon us who believe and walk upright in heart. "But the Lord will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you." (Isaiah 60:2) His glory brings discernment, power and authority. As His glory comes upon us we will be endued with supernatural abilities.

The world will be drawn to us like magnets, while the enemy cries out in anguish. We will be used to thwart the attempts of the evil one to kill, lie and destroy. We will walk as Jesus did in glory, power and authority.

The glory of the Lord is the manifest presence of the Lord himself. The glory is weighty or heavy.

"For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an everlasting weight of glory far beyond all comparison." (2 Corinthians 4:17)

When a person gets slain in the Spirit, they are under the power and glory of the Lord. That is why it is hard to get up off the floor. The glory is heavy upon them.

The glory of the Lord is arising upon us! The glory of the Lord is shining upon the faces of those who believe the Word and abide in his presence. The glory comes upon us as we allow the Holy Spirit to cleanse us from within our hearts. This glory supernaturally puts us in the right place at the right time.

When the glory of the Lord comes, the darkness must flee! The glory of the Lord brings deliverance from demons of all sorts.

During these dark and stressful days the Lord will give us revelation knowledge and supernatural peace. We will have divine understanding and he will use us to thwart the plans of the enemy. The only prerequisite to these signs is that we believe.

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.(Mark 16:17-18)

The Fruit of the Glory

The glory is the fruit of the blessing. In other words the apple seed produces the apple. The apple represents the glory. The Word of God is our seed and we can receive the glory through it. First we start with the Word of God and then the blessing comes. As we receive the blessing of the Lord the glory will manifest.

For instance if we find a healing Scripture in the Bible that says, "By his wounds we are healed." (1 Peter 2:24) Then we can stand on that Word and receive healing by faith. The healing that takes place in our bodies is now called the glory. The glory is the manifestation of the promise.

The glory comes as a result of abiding in the Lord's presence. Many people go to different conferences and meetings to find the glory, but the presence of the Lord comes as we worship Him in spirit and truth. The Lord is looking for true worshipers.

We can experience the glory in our own living rooms. We simply enter into his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise! (Psalm 100:4)

Being in the glory produces favorable results. We no longer strive in our flesh. The Lord manifests himself and things begin to happen effortlessly. So let's focus on Him and his presence and goodness. The goodness of the Lord is also his glory.

Power

Power comes from the Holy Spirit and operates through us. When we walk in His glory we are able to walk in power and authority. It is not our power and authority, but His power and authority. We should glory in the Lord not our accomplishments.

The glory of the Lord transforms us. True power comes from the glory of the Lord. The Lord looks upon the motives of our hearts. He gives grace unto the humble, but turns away from those who are walking in pride.

The plans of the heart belong to man, But the answer of the tongue is from the Lord. All the ways of a man are clean is his own sight, But the Lord weighs the motives. Commit your works to the Lord And your plans will be established.

The Lord has made everything for its own purpose, Even the wicked for the day of evil. Everyone who is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord; Assuredly, he will not be unpunished. By loving kindness and truth iniquity is atoned for, And by the fear of the Lord one keeps away from evil. (Proverbs 16:1-6)

Authority

The authority of Jesus Christ comes upon us when we walk in glory. The whole earth shall see the glory of the Lord. "And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it." (Isaiah 40:5)

With the manifest presence of the Lord with us, we can walk in glory, power and authority. The Scripture the Lord gave me to stand on for Change the World Ministries has always been, "Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit," says the Lord. (Zechariah 4:6) It's not by our power nor by our might, it is by His Spirit that we shall change the world.

And he said unto them, I beheld Satan fallen as lightning from heaven. Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall in any wise hurt you. Nevertheless in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.

If we submit our plans to the Lord, He will be with us and we will walk in glory, power and authority. No flesh can stand in his presence. The Lord is looking for those who have a humble and contrite spirit. To those who are weak in their own sight he will manifest himself strong. In our weakness he is able to manifest his glory, power and authority.

Prayer: Lord, help us to quiet our spirits and listen to you. May we seek your face and abide in your glory. Cleanse our hearts and deliver us from pride so we might be pleasing to you. Help us to commit our ways to you so you may establish our plans. In Jesus name. Amen
