GOOD ENOUGH - DOING OUR BEST

You and I will never be good enough to get into heaven. There is only One Man who is good enough and that is Jesus. He is our absolute and irrevocable passport to heaven. We must grasp this in the depths. The way to understand how unworthy and lost we are is by reading the requirements of the Law. (Read Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy in the Old Testament)

We are unable to use the Law as the Passport. Why do I say this? "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one [point], he is guilty of all." (Jas 2:10 KJV) Notice just "one".

No human being in the past and the future has ever or will ever keep the Law 100%. It's impossible.

So Jesus saw our plight and came to this earth as 100% God and 100% Man and kept the law in the minutest detail (100%). Thus we read in John 3:16, and I'm sure you know it; " For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (Jhn 3:16 KJV)

Now there are many scriptures that confirm this. This is GOOD NEWS, don't you agree?

As far as doing our best is concerned; that too is not good enough. Jesus is our 'Best' and He is 'Good enough'. That's called Grace. Yes, it's a fact that we all plod along in life doing our duty and daily work. That's a fact of life. What we can do though is ask the Holy Spirit to send people our way to tell them about this wonderful GOOD NEWS"

We don't have to be consumed with guilt and condemnation, that's not the Lords plan, for "[There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." (Rom 8:1 KJV).

The realization of how lost we are without Jesus will automatically ignite us with renewed vigor to spread the Good News of His Grace. We don't have to be big preachers; we don't have to be wonderfully gifted. No, no! We just have to shine in our corners.

We have the greatest Gift of all residing on the inside of us, and that is Jesus. (Jn.4:10)Thus we become channels of His love to a fallen and pathetically lost world; a world self-destructing and heading for eternal separation from God; too ghastly to contemplate.

So the Father in His Great Love for you and me and indeed the whole world, has given us, (who are believers in Jesus), a commission to " ..Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."(Mar 16:15 KJV)

This we do not by might nor by power but by the Holy Spirit.(Zec 4:6)

I have been a believer in Christ for many years. It has only been in the last three or four years that I have received greater insight into the Grace of God. This has injected me with energy to tell others about the blessed "rest" we have in Christ. Grace is not a theology but is a Person-- Jesus.
